Nothing Working in Chrome

I'm new to Roll20, but when I use Chrome in the campaign editor, it doesn't allow me to move any tokens. Also, when I click on a token, the radial menu doesn't show up, and the sidebar on the left doesn't do anything. Eg, if I click help and support nothing happens at all. It all works fine in firefox, but the only thing I can do in chrome is stuff relating to the sidebar on the right (I can chat, change settings, add tokens, etc.) My details: Chrome 22.0.1229.79 Flash 11.3.31 Windows 7
Try disabling any Chrome extensions you have running. I've found that the Stumbleupon extension interferes with some websites.
It still doesn't work :/

Another thing you can check is whether you're dealing with a Flash conflict. Latest version of Chrome often has three separate instances of Flash enabled simultaneously. Here are instructions on how to get to and then disable/enable your Flash plugins.
I tried that and it still doesn't work. It does work in Firefox, just something about Chrome that isn't working out.
Yeah, Chrome's completely screwed for me too. Can't click the pagebar, or any of the tools in the toolbar. Can't even drag a selection box. Strange and frustrating.
Exact same problem for me. Though it works on my desktop but not my laptop. I haven't been able to figure out what the difference is and checked that my setup was the same on both. I disabled all my add-ons, checked that I only had one version of flash (the latest), have the latest browser version, and only have one version of java installed (also the latest). I even checked that my OS (windows 7) was up to date. Firefox works fine, though.
Do you all have 3D Dice enabled? If so, can you try disabling that, then reloading, and seeing if that helps? Also for your Mentors just to confirm, this is on the main Roll20 site, not the Dev Server?
Nope. No 3D dice enabled at any point. Also, I tried it on both Dev and main site and neither worked. Does that help?
@Sarah Yes, that does! I'll keep trying to figure this out. It's just very odd because it's not reproducible even on the same OS and the same version of Chrome. So just trying to figure out what the differences are. Can you try right-clicking on the tabletop? Does it give you the normal right-click menu or nothing? If the normal one, can you click "Inspect Element" and tell me what it says in the dialog that pops up? I'd also be interested to know if anything is appearing in your Error Console. <a href="https://developers.google.com/chrome-developer-tools/docs/overview#access" rel="nofollow">https://developers.google.com/chrome-developer-tools/docs/overview#access</a>
Chrome user here. Right clicking on the game board yields no menu at all, which makes me a very sad Grimmie. I can right click on the right hand side chat bar no problem at all, and using Inspect Element from there and inspecting the game board gives me this. <a href="http://pastebin.com/jN5vgDup" rel="nofollow">http://pastebin.com/jN5vgDup</a> Hope that helps, happy to give further assistance if needed!
Also: Chrome Version 22.0.1229.79 m Windows 7 Have disabled/enabled both of my flash plugins in chrome://plugins/ in turn, and no combination works. Strangely <a href="http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer" rel="nofollow">http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer</a> says that I don't currently have Flash turned on, even though I can view flash content on other websites just fine. Possibly something for other users to test just to see if it's a quirk of the browser.
Hmm...this is rather disconcerting. It seems to be a Windows-only problem, although both XP and 7 can experience it. There's got to be something else you guys have in common, though. Graphics card type? 3D support? What do you see when you type: chrome://gpu into your URL address bar?
Uh... There's a lot of stuff, Riley. Maybe you'll find something helpful in here that I don't see. :) I also checked the error console and it was completely empty. Chrome doesn't work for me either. I'm on Windows 7. I'll try working with disabling extensions to see if that works.
My chrome://gpu report: <a href="http://pastebin.com/RNHnisF6" rel="nofollow">http://pastebin.com/RNHnisF6</a> Have also disabled all extensions and tried, still no dice (ha ha). Totally gonna subscribe to this if a) This is resolved and b) My first game tomorrow goes well :D
More clarification: I can select zoom percentages from the toolbar. I can click on the ruler, but can't draw it on the game table. I can change map layer, but it doesn't appear to affect the table at all. I can select the Select/Move arrow, but not drag selection boxes on the game table. None of the other options can be selected/used.

Maybe that helps: We were running yesterday a ROLL20 session with google hangout. We were all using chrome (Windows and OSX) and it went well.
In case anyone is curious, Roll20 works fine in Chrome on Windows 8 release preview. :)
I tracked down a Windows laptop that has the same graphics card (Intel 3000) as at least a couple of you in this thread. It's running Windows 7, same Chrome version ( 22.0.1229.79 m). Here's the graphics info for it: <a href="http://pastebin.com/A5D8GZFD" rel="nofollow">http://pastebin.com/A5D8GZFD</a> I can't reproduce the issue on this machine, either (everything works fine). It would be really, really helpful if I could get the Javascript Console (press Ctrl+Shift+J to open it while you have the chat box selected, or access it from the tools menu to the right of the URL bar) for each person having issues here, the FULL thing (not just the errors) -- it should be long and look similar to this one: <a href="http://pastebin.com/wZxzHj8u" rel="nofollow">http://pastebin.com/wZxzHj8u</a> Thanks! Also -- just to confirm again -- none of you are running ANY extensions in Chrome, right? We've had things as innocent as the StumbleUpon extension cause interference, so even if you think it's not relevant, please make sure that you have no extensions enabled. You can check by going to chrome://extensions in your URL bar.
Having this exact same issue. No extensions. Flash plug-in disabled as noted above. Going to give Firefox a try.
@Matthias Can you get me the Javascript Console log?
Here's my log, Riley <a href="http://pastebin.com/sdGg4076" rel="nofollow">http://pastebin.com/sdGg4076</a>
Just done a completely fresh installation of Chrome and I have the same issue. Going to <a href="http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/" rel="nofollow">http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/</a> still reckons I have it disabled. Going to chrome://plugins shows both plugins are enabled. chrome://extensions says I have no extensions installed. Javascript console log <a href="http://pastebin.com/Fqm7j6kj" rel="nofollow">http://pastebin.com/Fqm7j6kj</a> Playing another game tomorrow, and I'd love not to have to break out my creaking Firefox installation to play it again.
@Grimmie Just to confirm, you can use everything but the tabletop? Does the toolbox (where you pick between select, draw shape, etc.) work at all? Does the sidebar? And you are running Windows? I'm not seeing any obvious errors in any of your console logs, so I'm a bit stumped at this point as to what's going on.
I was having similar strange issues in Chrome, then I realized that my ad blocker (not a Chrome extension) was set to allow roll20.net but was still blocking something in app.js for some reason. My errors were more obvious, though: <a href="http://pastebin.com/asF9ZQvY" rel="nofollow">http://pastebin.com/asF9ZQvY</a> Once I changed the settings on my ad blocker, everything returned to normal. Maybe that will help someone else?
The only features on the Toolbox that are selectable are: * Select/Move (But I can't select or move anything) * Ruler (But I can't use the ruler) * Zoom (This works, I can zoom in and out) None of the others are selectable. Running Win 7 32bit Stumped? Makes two of us :/
I'm running Win 7 64bit with chrome and a crap-ton of extensions (ad-block included as well as plenty of social network related extensions) and I had no problems last night. The ONLY issue I have had is the known defect of voice/video being disabled if you hide other player's images. Of course the machine I was running on is ONLY used for gaming so I'm wondering if you've got a firewall/anti-virus issue of something getting blocked. What OTHER things are you running on your machine? I don't think it's chrome to be honest.
I'm running way less stuff on my laptop than I am on my desktop which has no problems, to be frank. I have exactly the same plugins and settings (chrome sync!), much better hardware, same network settings... I'm even running Windows 8 on the desktop. If I was going to have issues, I would've thought it would be on my experimental machine. Also, Firefox works fine. Go figure.
I'm bringing this back up because we're still having people that are reporting issues with this. Did anyone in this thread actually get their issue fixed, or did you all just start using Firefox?
Still using Firefox. I've tinkered around turning things off (firewall, AV, all chrome plugins) with no success. I'm stumped.
I have no idea if this will be helpful, but I decided to install chrome frame for IE since the latest build of Firefox keeps giving me scripting errors. Chrome frame has the exact same problems as chrome -- can't select anything or open the page bar and all that necessary stuff.
That is interesting, thanks. Although it still makes me have no clue what's causing this... :-( You said you are running different software between your desktop/laptop...are there any differences in firewall software, antivirus software...?
Same antivirus (MS security essentials) and just windows firewall. The only difference is my laptop (which has the problems) runs windows 7 and the desktop is running Windows 8 preview. I sync my chrome so the plugins and settings are exactly the same. I'm sure I must be missing something... Thanks for not giving up on us, though. This is such a weird issue, and chrome's performance with Roll20 is definitely better than firefox, so I'd prefer to use it. Worst comes to worst, I can run it on my desktop (since the lastest firefox seems to be pretty buggy) -- but since one of my players is a roommate I have to tell her not to look at my monitor. :)
Do you use 3D Dice in the campaign? Just want to make sure it's not WebGL acting wonky. If you start a new campaign it will be off by default.
Nope. Not using 3D dice (though they are very cool, by the way).
Are you using the window so it fills the whole screen? Can you try resizing it down and see if that changes anything?
Hi, same problem here, Win7 64bits, latest chrome, tried disabling all extensions, still nothing. Tell me if i can do anything to help you diagnose. Installing Firefox as of now...
Riley, didn't get the chance to try changing the browser size, but I have used Ctrl + and Ctrl - to zoom in and out. I thought that might be my problem initially, but it didn't get things working.
Okay, got to mess with my browser size and still no luck. Tried it full screen and in a bunch of random configurations of height and width, but I still couldn't get stuff to work.
Okay, good to know, thanks.
A new version of Chrome got released (23)...I don't suppose we got lucky and the update fixed your issues?! :-)
I had someone who had this problem the other day as well. They couldn't do anything. Not even change their cursor via the bar on the left side as a player. I never did get them to log in as a GM and see what would happen.
It almost seems like there's something "overlaid" on top of the whole page...like maybe the loading screen isn't going away correctly? If you see it happen and can get someone to use the Inspector tool and then hover over the page and see what element it highlights...that would be very helpful...
I don't think it's an overlay thing, Riley. Since you can select SOME of the things on the left side toolbar -- sort of. You can access the drop down lists to choose the different tools (ex. freehand, polygon, text, etc drawing tools) but it doesn't actually select any of the ones you click on. Otherwise, I might think you were right since it's only things to the left of the right side bar where the chat, journals, jukebox are that I can't get to work. I'll have to check to see if I've got the new chrome yet... I'll cross my fingers for that one working. :)
Well, looks like the new chrome didn't improve things after all. :(
FWIW - I just started today, and I found the same problem using Chrome on an iMac. Neither tokens nor the background image were selectable. When I right-clicked, I got a context menu for Edit, Copy, and Paste. They did not appear to respond. So this is not necessarily a Windows problem... It is, however, sort of an adoption-blocker...
I am on OS X (Mountain Lion) and use Chrome w/o problems. This may be hard to track, but it does not affect all users, I bet there are lots of people who use the same web browsers and have not encountered these problems. Sorry for not being supportive to you guys who have the problem, but I felt it had to be said that Chrome does work - just some users have issues.
