[LFP] [Pathfinder] [Sundays]

You sit in the back room of an upscale tavern. Looking around at those who have also been brought to this back room, you see all are seasoned adventurers such as yourself. There is wine, ale and mead on the table along with some wonderful bread and cheese. You have just sampled the foods and are about to introduce yourself to the others when the curtain parts. An older elf man appears. "Greeting adventurers, you must wonder why you have been chosen and summoned here, I shall get to that immediately." He pours himself a glass of wine from one of the several open bottles on the table. He sniffs the wine approvingly and drinks a sip. "While young, you have each shown remarkable promise and bravery. My master has hand picked each of you, for a purpose he has not shared with me. In return for your commitment to serve for one year, he will reward you greatly." He pauses for a moment and sips some more wine, letting his words sink in. "My master needs someone to rid a valley of evil, a valley that he owns and that figures prominently in his plans. In exchange for a year of your lives, my master offers you ascension. You will be stronger, smarter and more powerful than you are now; you will be mythic heroes. The power comes with a price though, you must use it for good and quell the mighty evil that has befallen Quail Valley in my master's holdings." "Why you? I do not know. Why is my master willing to trade this awesome power to you for a mere year of your lives? I do not know. What are his long term plans for you? I do not know. What I do know is that there are many in this land that would jump at the opportunity you are being presented." He falls silent and you think for a few moments before accepting. Wondering if the old saying, if something is too good to be true, there must be a catch applies in this situation. Regardless, you know yourself, and you know what you could do with such power and it is only a year of your life after all and you will be ridding a place of evil. How bad can that be? All of those gathered seem to have reached the same conclusion. You all agree. The old elf hands each of you a potion of swirling rainbow colors and bids you drink. You do, yet you feel no differently afterwards. The elf tells you it will take some time to take effect, which is fine because you must journey by sea to get to the valley you have sworn to rescue. It has been 6 weeks. You are stronger now than you thought possible, you have new powers and abilities that you had previously only thought were possible in legend. The elf was true to his word. While you tire of this damned boat passage, it has given you a chance to meditate and hone your new powers. Just when you think you will go crazy onboard the ship with boredom, you arrive in a splendid city on a river. Your host tells you the name of the city is Castille. You are given a couple of days to explore the city, it is bigger than you supposed and is ruled by a divine king who your host tells you is your benefactor. You wonder again why you, why this "divine" king would give up so valuable a treasure for you and your companions. Regardless of his motives, you decide to live up to your commitment. Going up river for days on a small ship that seems to be magically propelled agains the current, you reach this Quail Valley. You are in the small village of Pembrose taking stock of yourself and your possessions. It is time to meet the mayor and decide what is the next step... you have 44 more weeks of service to this divine king of Castille, so might as well get started. Character Creation : Pathfinder. 5 player characters needed. Paizo only. No firearms. No psionics. No evil alignments. 5th level, mythic tier 1. 30 point buy. 3 traits standard. 1 more if you take a drawback. No campaign traits or regional traits. Anything outside of core races, get approval for before making your character. 2,500 gp to be spent on any and all equipment you desire. 1 magic item will be provided to you on top of what you purchase. Approximate value is 8k, you can lobby for something, but I have final say. Maximum hp for level 1. Future levels are 4 for d6, 5 for d8, 6 for d10 and 7 for d12. Please use Myth Weavers for character sheet. If you do not have access to myth-weavers, I can send you a sample .rtf character sheet that you can use. Things to Expect : Metagaming will not be tolerated. If you need or want to change something about your character, just ask. Doing so without asking is cheating. Cheating will not be tolerated. Encumberance is used. You will rise in mythic tiers as a group. Personal experience for class levels will determine when you advance in your regular classes as individuals. You will be expected to remember important details. DM will not remind you. Your alignment will shift as a result of your actions. You will be expected to be present when games are held. I understand we all have real lives, but if attendance becomes an issue, you will be replaced. Not every encounter is meant to be fought. In fact, some encounters if fought, will kill you dead. This is more or less a sandbox campaign, and you are expected to choose your foes wisely based on your level. XP is awarded for the following : attendance, role playing, teamwork, overcoming challenges, heroism. Overcoming challenges can be through trickery, negotiation, diplomacy, or by good old fashioned combat. Leadership will be given out for free. Cohorts advance based on your level, not xp. As mythic heroes, you will attract mythic cohorts, their mythic tier will be half yours rounded down. You do not have to have a cohort or leadership, it is available and free if you want it though. Ultimate campaign rules will be used. If you want your own lands, that is a possibility. Who am I : I have been playing and DMing on and off since 1977 when the original AD&D books came out. Yes, I am that old. I have DM'd at conventions, online and at table top. I even DM'd at GenCon. I loved Living Greyhawk and have been playing d20 for years. I have a couple years experience with Pathfinder as a player, but this will be my first time DMing Pathfinder. I have only had one TPK in 38 years. Outside of that, I think I have permanently killed maybe 4 characters over that time. I am NOT a killer DM. But, if you do something stupid, you will die, I cannot help that. I have never DM'd on Roll20, so I am not going to be an expert on all the bells and whistles. Any and all help provided will be appreciated. I know that I do not know everything :) If you have a problem with my ruling, please bring it up on skype or in whisper. Have the book and page number to support your argument ready. I will read it and if it is different than I thought, I will decide one way or the other, but all decisions of mine are the final answer. I normally stick pretty close to the books, but some things are game breaking and I do not intend to have the campaign ruined because of something I do not agree with. So if you are wise, you will ask in advance before "surprising" me with an ah-ha moment. There are no "house-rules" that I can think of off hand. As we go along, if you believe something I do is a house rule and not "official" then we will make a list of house rules that everyone can see and follow. I plan on introducing some new things, like mythic leadership, and I will detail those things in the House Rules Page as they come up. The game was created to have fun. If you are not having fun, please let me know and we will try to figure out how to fix that. That being said, not every game is meant for every player, sometimes, like in relationships, things don't work out, and that is understandable. If interested, post here or PM me and we can talk via skype Dan

I believe the forum is now up, so this will hopefully be the correct link : https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/27022/mythic-ma... I am still fairly new to roll20, so please be patient. Under the Hello thread, are things I would like to know before I send out my skype. Edit : The group right now lacks a trapfinder. If you are interested in playing a rogue, arcane trickster, sorcerer-seeker, or investigator, please send me your idea for the character. I am not using the unchained rules.
Intro session will be this Sunday, the 28th. Not sure how long it will last. First "real" session will be July 12th.
Thought we had a complete party, but had to drop one, not sure what happened to him, he just stopped responding. So we are left with a wizard, a cleric, a druid, a fighter/ranger and a swashbuckler. It is a very fun group and a well rounded party. We played today and everyone seemed to have fun. The only thing they really lack is a trapfinder. If you are interested in playing a rogue, arcane trickster, sorcerer-seeker, or investigator, please send me your idea for the character (class, race, etc). BTW, I am not using the unchained rules, in case that makes a difference in your decision. Next session is July 12th, noon PST or maybe 1 pm (we are deciding now) and will run for approximately 4 hours.
I could do either a seeker or a slayer with trapfinding. A former ward of a crimelord now seeking a new path for themselves.
A seeker sounds good, what race and alignment were you thinking?
I almost always play Half-Orc or Human. For a sorc, Human. Alignment CG.
