Star Wars Saga Diagonal Movement?

So I've been running a Star Wars Saga campaign and currently I'm using the D&D3.5/Pathfinder option for diagonal movement. However, I want to see if there is a way for me to implement it the way described in the Saga Core Rulebook. I searched the forums and found this topic: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/705/slug%7D#post... Unfortunately that just tells me what I already know: how the various systems implement diagonal movement. I know there isn't a built in option for Saga-style diagonal movement, so my question is, can I implement this myself or am simply I stuck between choosing 3.5/Pathfinder, 4E, Euclidean, or Manhattan? I have programming experience so the difficulty of such a task doesn't scare me off, but if it just simply can't be done then I will guess I will stick with the 3.5/Pathfinder option for now.

I use Manhatten which does the correct diagonals (diagonals in Saga Edition are counted as 2), and I've had no issues with miscalculations. I set up maps as such: 1 unit = 1 sq Grid style = Manhatten Hope that helps.

Manhattan measurement ("Taxicab geometry") is correct for SWS.
