Hey all! Just bought Primetime Adventures 3ed and I have to say, it is a beautifully written game. So I was hoping to get at least 3 people together to play a game of PTA with me. It would be Sunday around 930 EST via skype. Once I have enough people I can give out my skype info so we can get it all together. Veterans of the game will be prioritized but newbies are absolutely welcome. If you haven't played PTA before, it is a phenomenal game. The game itself is modeled to simulate serial television. With each character playing a protagonist, and the GM playing the "producer" the story is crafted collaboratively with the players, so its not just the producer running the show. For the first session, we will all sit down and hash out what it is that we want to play, which can literally be anything. We can recreate old tv shows that we liked or create something from scratch. Once we have a concept down (what we're playing, the tone, characters, etc) the players pick who they are in the cast and voila, we have us a game. Requires very little prep on the Producer's side. The protagonists direct their own scenes where they try to play out and pursue the resolutions of their own issues (whether it be anger issues, idiocy, alcoholism, sociopathy, etc) and it is resolved with a simple deck of cards (available through roll20). It is structured into several acts, and each character directs one scene in each act, the other players act as supporting characters during other players scenes, that is every Episode besides the first one, which is called the Pilot Episode. The Pilot we'll be playing through is yet to be determined, and the whole point behind it is to see if it gets "picked up by the network" (ie, do we like it enough to play more games). Which I will keep true to. If we like it, we'll play again! If not, no biggie. Since we'll all be playing together and the plot is yet to be determined, here's some ideas I was toying with: - Continuance of Harry Potter as a series. Starting on the first day he becomes and Auror. Light hearted and funny. - Something set in Nazi Europe, was thinking warsaw. But the primary nemesis is the devil himself. Supernaturalish. Dark drama/horror. - Battlestar Galactica, starting immediately after the cylons attack. Alternate timeline, not going for accuracy. - Something with the characters playing several serial killers and/or police officers trying to unbeknownst catch each other. - Spartans. Either Space-spartans a la Halo, or legit Spartans like from 300. Any Tone. Let me know what you guys think or if anyone's in! Send me a PM or post through here. Thanks!
