So as much as the Roll20 EULA (end User Licence Agreement) claims to be "in plain English" a lot of it is still obviously thick, Byzantine legalese, which I have not the time, law degree, or inclination to decipher. But, ignorance of the ROOLZ! is no excuse (as they say), and since I have a lot of time and money invested in this site, I'd very much like to avoid getting my account terminated because of some accidental misstep. I'm not trying to rip anyone off - bear in mind that what may be obvious to one person my not be so to someone else due to vastly differing influences on their worldview. So here are my questions - will any of the following be a violation of the pages upon pages of the Kafkaesque EULA? 1) If I bought a .pdf of a book, making that file (say I put it on my Google drive) available for viewing by the players in my group (which I don't view as any different than a player in an in-person group buying a print-copy book an then passing that physical copy around at the table). Example : I buy a .pdf file of "The Complete Guide to Underwater Basket Weavers, Volume II". One of the players in my group later mentions "Hey, I think I'd like to explore the role-playing possibilities of Underwater Basket Weaving!" I say "sure, I happen to have just the book for you - let me link you to the file I bought!" Would that get me kicked off of Roll20? 2) If I use a random image off of Google (not anything obscene or racist, mind you)? I figure if it's already on the internet, either they want it out there for the world to see, or it can't do any more harm on a humble gaming site. Example : I want a pic of a particular type of monster or character for a token. The marketplace does not have it, so I turn to Google Image Search. After looking through a few results, I find one that sorta fits what I want, so I save it to my hard drive, and then put it in one of my campaign maps. I don't actually track down the rights-holder of the image, because it's game-night, and I'm short on time, and I'm not making money off of this image that's already freely available on the internet anyway . Would that get me kicked off of Roll20? 3) If I link to a 3rd-party page/site, and they end up sharing stuff that they may not have the rights to? Would that get me kicked off of Roll20? 4) I occasionally see images like this on my Google search, from the Marketplace, with a Roll20 watermark. Is it acceptable to use the watermarked versions pulled off of the Google Image Search or would that get me kicked off of Roll20?
