"Never surrender, never give up!" From my experience is is like the old saying, "Feast or Famine." I get inivted into more games than I can actively participate in or I have nothing. And sometimes it is my fault. Like Ken pointed out, there are more players than gms so they can pick and choose. Once I applied for a Stars without number game and couldn't figure out why I was looked over. I had done everything the GM had asked for,... except I did not post a character goal. Did that make a big difference when it was time for him to determine who to invite in? Maybe? Respond with what the GM asks for. Sometimes one never knows what a GM wants as they will write, "Post your characters here" but without bothering to say what level, what way if any they want you to create characters, etc. Don't just write, "I am interested!"
