Voice effects program

Hey guys! First time poster here, but I've been playing this great website for a long time :) So, first of all I would like to thank the Roll20 team for their work. That being done, I'll address the topic at hand. For a game I'm about to play, I'd like to "edit" my voice as I speak, making me sound like a woman, or talking from inside a helmet, or i'm a voice on a radio, and al those things. I know there are LOTS and LOTS of applications that do that, but most are dodgy or simply bad. I had one a long time ago with plenty of personalizable presets, but I cant remember how was it called so I cannot search for it properly... Do any of you know a good program to achieve this?
I too would be delighted if someone could point me in the right direction for something like this, preferably something free.
A word of caution... Audio applications like these install their own sound device driver. It's a VERY easy way to really make a computer act screwy. The free apps are far more prone to this behavior than more professional products. Especially in windows 8 (as opposed to win7, who's audio options aren't QUITE as complex) Installer beware. **** That being said, I've had decent success in the past with MorphVox on Windows 7 with only mild screwy'ness (sound mixer took several minute to just open when it's installed, for me).

The only solution I found I liked isnt free, and a bit technical. All the 'voice changer' apps I found didnt have many options, or sounded just bad. I ended up doing FL studio with ASIO mic input, to ASIO output, to voicemeter program to create virtual mic input that TS or roll20 can see as a mic. Its a bit of setup but virtually unlimited options for voice effects, reverb, chorus, flang, talkbox, echo, pitch, multi pitch, bending..well anything you can get a vst plugin for etc. anything I can do in a DAW to sound/music i can apply to my voice.
