Lookin' to play a 5e campaign

Hello, I'm Erie, and I'm looking for a 5th edition campaign for late night saturdays or anytime really on Sundays (Pacific Time Zone). I would consider myself a person with moderate rp experience, but pretty much a newb at using roll20. A bit on myself, I'm 24 and currently working with my grandfather on custom tabletops (often sport theme). I am a big fan of cooperative story telling and improv and am looking for a group willing to have a bit of fun but also with a bit of realism. In terms of combat vs roleplay, I love both equally but generally lean more toward roleplay vs combat. I am a big fan of fluff over complete restriction by the rules. I'm personally not a fan of evil parties. I don't mind morally ambiguous ones as they can be incredibly interesting, but find a lot of people confuse "morally ambigous" as do what-ever I want. I do currently have a character Ive been itching to try out and play, a drow warlock that is a Merchant, but am willing to make a character to fit the parties needs if need be.
Looking to play as well. Havent played D&D but I have played/playing 13th Age which is similar. I do have the PDF of 5e. I am new to Roll 20 as well. I might also have a friend who is looking to play as well.
I've recently begun playing D&D and have been itching to try DM'ing. I'd be interested in hosting a game with you two!
The biggest problem is usually finding a DM. Lol. So we are already off to a good start.
Glad I could help, then! :P
I am game for this. But we will have to wait and see what OP says.
Wow, actually surprised how quick that was. Used to forums taking days before replays unless ya been there since the beginning. Im game. Tis sounds like a wonderful start.
5e is really popular. expect this to get filled within 48 hours or less.
im new to 5e ,literally just learned the little i know of it yesterday, played 3.5 majority of times ive played gona play a game with my friends later tonight with 5e and my friend dming ,but im open for later events . and could possibly get other people involved or bring u all to my friends games in later times.
How soon are you trying to start this game?
I was wondering if i could join if there was an open spot
I would like to start a game by July 4-5 or 11-12, preferably Sunday, but I can do late night sat. Depends on how early our volunteer gm can set up a game he can be comfortable with.
I think the 11-12 would be better on account of the holiday. But I am ready for the most part, just need to read over rules and such.
Yeah, 11-12 is a safer bet. Also should probably decide how many peeps we want, and what setting we going for. Personally think a comfortable 4-6 including gm would be fantastic, and it sounds like we have might have that. As for setting, I'm used to custom settings, so I'm up for what ever.
Yea I would go with 4-6 including GM. My 13th Age group has 8 and its just too big and get a little off game for a bit. Like I said, if we need one more I have another girl that wants to get in on a campaign as well. And she has played before.
Can I join the game and help if needed
Coolio
Sounds great! So I can DM for a group of 4/5 of you guys. Oir 5 would be: Erie, Saralynn, Saralynn's pal, Thomas and Kyle. We plan to play Sunday the 12 or late on Sat the 11. I'm in EST, I'm not sure about you lot. I could do either time, except for this first weekend it would be more convenient to do Sat evening because Sunday I'm flying back from SDCC. What else can we hammer out now? I'm excited!
Whenever works for me. I am in Central Time. My friend is in Pacific Time. I still have to get with her about what times will be good for her, she needs to make a Roll20 account.
July I more open, so starting on sat 11 is perfectly fine. Reason I say late sat or all day Sunday is because mid august to mid oct, Sunday will be my only free day, so late sat and early Sun will be the only ones I can do. Also mentioned before, on Pacific Time, so late night for me is pretty late for you. Basicly I'm more flexible till mid August. As for other things needed to hammer out, setting, houserules are pretty much all I can think of at the moment.
Any preferences for those? I'm a fan of the regular gameplay rules for 5e, and I can do my best to accommodate a setting you all prefer!
I'm also seeking a spot as a player or as a DM, or alternate DM, if you still need one or want to do two campaigns. I'm in EST also, in PA. Saturdays or Sundays are good.
Im happy with the regular set of rules. As for setting, I can adjust to most, as I said before Im used to custom settings rather than the tradditional ones, so Im up for anything. Points of light and forgotten realms (seem) the most popular and Ive done a version of points of light. Ebberon from what Ive heard seems really cool, always been a fan of more modern fantasy,so magic punk sounds pretty fun. In truth, I'd lean for any setting that I could use my drow merchant idea.
Just make sure all rules and stuff are posted before we start, cause I am new and I am still learning.
Maybe when I get back tonight I can create the game for us all then!
Sweet.
