Greetings Adventurers, I am a D&D 4e DM who has been developing an Epic Level 1-30 Campaign called "Dark Calling". This will only be a 3 player adventure so I need the group to be SUPER dedicated to an agreed timetable (8:30 UTC+2). I need players who will stick to roleplaying, no meta stuff. Immersion is a key factor in the game as I am a DM who won't let rules stand in the way of fun play. 4e is great but it needs a heavy touch of houserules and awarding innovation which is exactly what I offer. Features of Campaign: - Original and rich World rooted in D&D lore. - Low levels don't mean easy fights. - Alot of customized monsters. - Meaningful and interconnected quests/side-quests that enrich the world. - Choices that matter all throughout the game. - Developing each main character with their own stories to tell. - Epic main story. - Houserules that make everything possible and innovation prized. Requirements: - Mature player. - Dedicated to timetable. - Invested in character and story. - Relative Experience with D&D 4e. - Great roleplayer. - Fun to play with! Characters: This will be a group of 3. Small, yes, but this doesn't mean the encounters and scale of threats will be any easier. Race available for use only those in PHB1. Classes available also those found in PHB (preferably Rogue, Wizard, Cleric, Warlord or Paladin). We will be balancing the party togther on Skype chat once everything is done. No multiclassing, but subclasses are alright. So, what do you do to join in? - In this thread: Create a general sketch of character and give me his/her back story. - Give me a breif description of your personality and that of your character. - For more info add me on Skype: mahmoudelrayes1 Cheers, DM MightyMido. Also, here is a map of the world to give you a general idea:
Hey, I have some questions. What do you mean by subclasses? AFAIK, 4E has Multiclass, Hybrid, and...that's it. What homebrew rules do you use? Are sources outside of PHB1 OK for feats/powers/items, and so on? TIA!

Hey there, Subclasses such as a Theif for the Rogue. Also, homebrew rules will include rewarding inovation (like swining a chair in an inn instead of your weapon/power), some powers and/or equipment slightly changed, things like that. What it also means is that I dispise rule nazis xD Yes, powers and feats are not limited to PHB as long as they are part of the original classes. Cheers.
Heya I've got a character concept that works best with a rogue, but which could fit well enough onto quite a few other classes. I used to play a lot of 4e but ended up falling in with a group of those rules fascists which soured me on it, so have spent the past few years mostly playing more freeform indie RPGs - but they're too freeform. I like having rules around, they give direction and focus when done properly. And I like to splat monsters, but I also need to feel like I'm doing it for a reason beyond XP and loot. Character sketch: They grew up in one of your larger settlements (a city, or at least a bustling market town), probably a member of some organisation or other. (Magic school, merchants' guild, town militia, doesn't really matter which.) Then they found out about how their organisation (or its leaders, or both) had secrets, dangerous and damaging secrets, corruption and hypocrisy. Got angry, tried to expose the secrets, maybe it worked, maybe not, either way they had to leave in a hurry, and taught themselves life skills on the road. They tried to live alone in the middle of nowhere, but that didn't work so well. They need to be around others, and are personally very easy-going and get along with most people - but they utterly despise hypocrisy and are driven to adventure by a desire to find out the secrets of the powerful and hypocritical, and then expose them to the world. Sound like a decent fit for your game?

Hello Mak, The above description of a game floating between freeform and rules is exactly my kinda game. I have to note that I use a grid for combat. As for the rogue character. It sounds great! I will pm you further details. Also, please add me on Skype so that we can have a chat once things get going. Cheers.
bump :D
Forgive my stupidity, but what time exactly will sessions be at? (8:30 UTC+2) -- so a.m. or p.m.?
