Hi friends. Would you like to play a roleplaying game? Specifically, Fate Accelerated (or Core if people would prefer). Don’t know how to play? That’s cool, I’d be happy to take new players! I don’t know what day, but the game will need to be at least two, maybe even three sessions. I generally play starting about 7 EDT and play for about four hours, with a break or two, using Skype for voice only and Roll20 for dice. I definitely can’t do Tuesdays - I was thinking we’d have our first game Friday or this weekend or something. Maybe Monday? I don’t know. You tell me. First session will be game and character creation, and second session will be the game. If we’re having fun, maybe we can play a third or fourth game. I have literally nothing planned. I don’t even have a genre in mind. With Fate, we’ll all show up as a group and figure out what we want to play together. Some super dramatic noir with characters all hiding dark pasts? Awesome. A couple of guys and girls with swords making their way in the world? Why not. A heist? Some spy stuff? A military game? Space marines? Rogue wizards? Daring archeologists? A skyship crew? Lords and ladies of the court? Brave sword-wielding mice? Let’s do it. Basically, the only things I’m not interested in doing are games based on existing intellectual properties - you know, like fan fiction or existing worlds, because I’m the kind of person who will inadvertently offend with my ignorance of the IP - and I’m just not a big fan of super heroes. But pretty much anything else works for me. So… it’s SUPER IMPORTANT that you show up prepared for a narrative game. Like really important. The most important, some would say. Fate is a game about proactive, competent, dramatic characters, and it thrives with player creativity and energy - more so than other systems, in my opinion. You absolutely cannot just hang out and roll dice when you want to shoot the bad guy. If you show up to this game thinking that I’ll run you through a story or that I’ll entertain you, the game is going to fall pretty flat. In Fate, the world reacts to you - not the other way around. It’s uh… not really possible to over-exaggerate that. So if that sounds like something you’re into, send me a private message. Ask me any questions you might have, I’d be happy to answer! I wouldn’t mind hearing a bit about you as well - and if you are under 21, then this isn’t going to be the game for you, sorry. I’m also kind of wary of major time zone differences. And lastly, this isn’t really a first come first serve kind of thing - take your time and send me a decent message. I want to play games with people I like, you know? Help me know a bit about you. If you’re unsure, or nervous about learning a new system or even trying the hobby out for the first time, try it out! Worst case, you lose an evening… but it also might be the start of an awesome character and even better story!
