Player seeking a DM for a solo 5th edition campaign

Hello! And thanks for looking at my post. I have been playing various role playing games for the past 7 years. I have played with groups as small as 1 player all the way up to 8. I still am part of a couple group games, but I really enjoy just the 1 on 1 player interaction a solo campaign can have. I am Flexible with dates and times, but I would like to stick to 5th edition. If you already have designed a cool world or have certain house rules I wouldn't mind working with that. If your interested then feel free to PM with your experience dming and if you have already done a solo campaign before or would like to. I am a fun player and just like to make cool characters and would love to hear from you. Thanks- Matt
I don't think I was very specific. It is for 5th edition D&D
Hey I only like to DM and am just looking for anything do. New to this setting but I have DM'ed in 3.5 and a little 4. I have 5 and can learn it very quickly. I have one house rule or system I like to use as I enjoy making characters that level and are fun to have power. I make a character and mostly only use it in combat though I have learned how to make it function out of that as well without using meta gaming. I would leave us as a 1 on 1 group though you get to have a caimpaign that you can use two PCs with so that you don't need to be so well rounded of a class. I am creative and work on the fly mostly and will spend plenty of time working on the adventures each week. skype: redzeckx I can use any computer based communication software let me know what you want to use.
Thanks for your interest Jonah! I'll add you on skype and we can talk.
Hey there Matthew, I wanna just poke my nose in here. The solo campaign is something that's always interested me. I'm a fairly experienced DM. ~10 years of mostly DMing. I don't really have a lack of players, I actually have a group of friends doing an online 5e game right now. My white whale is the solo campaign though. I've never had a friend that wanted to try the heavy RP nature of a solo campaign along with the semi-loneliness that comes with it. I'd be most interested in chatting with you about the idea of it. The only way I think it'd really work is in a heavy RP format along with being hyper specialized to the type of character you would decide you'd like to play, (i.e. druid would be a nature focused game vs. a rogue who'd likely be the star of an urban game.) Or even far off concepts could be in play also. The out of place monster races that are rarely viable PC options, such as a vampire, would be completely plausible also. The cool part about the solo campaign is that we wouldn't need to worry ourselves about the PC party becoming too out of hand. A Psion-themed Warlock? No prob. A water bending Sorcerer? Sure, why not? The idea of customization would be unlimited in this type of game. If you're interested in such ideas, give me a shout! P.S. Just for the sake of typing, I've always wanted to play in a solo campaign. The idea being around a necromancer forming and taking over a Funerary Guild in a large city. He's no normal necromancer though. A former botanist studying the different potent qualities of the "aggressive" plants known to our world. Tragedy strikes and he loses his beloved wife in a tragic accident that he caused in some abstract manner. He becomes obsessed about his lost wife, focusing his study in a type of plant known for the quality of taking control of the shells of dead creatures and animating them once again. He proceeds to become some sort of botanical necromancer, reviving and animating minions under his control using a form of nature magic rather than vile arcane. He has not a single evil bone in his body, but he has to get the resources needed to bring his wife back, and not a single person will stop him in his scientific pursuit of his love.
Just started a solo campaign for someone, I have run them a few times. One thing that helps is to have a roster of "henchmen" that help the PC, as long as the PC RPs alot with the NPC and subsequently RPs AS the NPC as well. Prevents the quick solo TPK, and adds some spice. The PC can kinda choose who they want on a mission from their roster, and so its more like a solo campaign where the PC plays two characters sometimes. You can add all sorts of RP fun - does a henchman leave when he sees the cruelty of the PC? Or perhaps he leaves because the PC is a goodie goodie? The wizard needs more of the loot so he demands new spells before the next journey, etc/. Food for thought, and you all have fun!
Thanks Dragonsbane! Glad to hear.
