Eldar, my kin, to me!

Hello beautiful community, I'm deeply interested in roleplaying in this fantastic universe once again, but I fear my heart belongs to the Eldar, and I know this isn't the rule of thumb... Is there any group interested in homebrewing an Eldar campaign with me or including a sanctioned xenos in their own? I've a lot of experience GMing Eldar campaigns and other RPs, but none that include any kind of combat mechanics... That would be kind of a waste of this site's engine, so we might need an alternate GM. -S
My advice would be a Rogue Trader game. There are rules for playing various aliens, including Eldar.
Rogue Trader would be a great system for that, Ian is correct! It's perfectly grim dark and quite deadly should combat actually break out. I'd offer to DM but sadly I'm far more interested in the go for broke mentality of the Imperial Guardsman. Disgusting xeno filth must be purged, not toyed with. If you're ever looking to drink beer, eat peanuts and play a casual game of D&D 5e however, let me know!
Just to be sure, you are interested in regular, but not Dark Eldar correct?
I'd be up for a game playing as the once keepers of the galaxy. As have been said before Rogue Trader already have stuff for Eldar as player characters.
Hello again, Indeed, Rogue Trader is what I used to play with my group - back when I was still allowed in my country. To answer to Ian, I have Eldar of all factions both tabletop-wise and RP-wise. Would be interested in roleplaying any! Now, as for starting a new Rogue Trader campaign or entering a new one... -S
On a potentially related note, does anyone know about how much exp is recomended before a group of 4-5 attempts The Soul Reaver adventure book?
Hey, Ian, I'm scrolling through my book and I don't see any requirements - however, the first boss has *spoilers* these stats: WS:68 BS:61 S:52 T:38 Ag:66 Int:58 Per: 58 WP: 59 and Fel:54 -S
I'd love to join an Eldar game. Also, while I'd be more likely to use Only War with some tweaks over Rogue Trader (OW is just more refined as a system than RT), some helpful soul already completed a pretty comprehensive guide for Eldar PCs in Rogue Trader long before OW was released. https://img.4plebs.org/boards/tg/image/1406/58/140... If you're more interested in Dark Eldar, I have the supplements for RT that provided them as limited PCs, and I've had some success with them as fringe characters in a Black Crusade game. I've personally played an Eldar Ranger as an acolyte in a Dark Heresy game with decent success (our Inquisitor was Malleus and willing to work with some xenos species provided it helped her mission against the Ruinous Powers). I've always wanted to play in or GM an all-Eldar game, perhaps Corsairs or Rangers, but I can't seem to come up with any plotlines that would really hook players.
Well, I mean, Eldar are generally humanoids, as are most of the races in the 40k universe, so technically you could just use your typical human statistics, and just put an eldar twist on them, since Eldar warriors take a long time to train, and mainly use projectile weapons (Shuriken Canons for the win) Instead of homeworld per say, you could graft on from Dark Heresy and instead use craftworlds. (I've sadly only played Dark heresy, however if I'm allowed, i'd surely use the other systems if given the information and guides to each set. A good plotline would probably be something do with the webways, since that one chaos guy got into the place, Ahriman I think his name is, perhaps the story is that you must stop him, and some things go bad with the webway eithier transporting some Nids, or unleashing some daemons left over from the Horus Heresy era (Since I did read up and Chaos did ambush them there.) Or perhaps some Tzeench daemons decide they want to mess up some poor Eldar whilst they are inside, and bippity boppity boo, some random warp stuff happens, maybe some transports to an uncivilized, yet hostile world teeming with life? TL:DR I'd love to join and do shit with the Eldar. Eldar and the Guard happen to be my bae.
Good morning, So! Robert, Inquisitor Cain, I believe we have three players then - that's with me included. Any of you interested in GMing? -S
boss is a tyranid or a demon. To bad ya dont have anyone who can "persuade" tyranids to leave ya alone.
I don't really have a system in mind, but if you end up needing another player the Eldar are my favourite race in the 40K setting, and it'd be nice to actually explore RPing as them instead of having people yell SPEC MARINES! >.>
Sorry Sophia, I can't really GM this, I tried and I'm not too skilled with it. Came from playing too much 3.5 and Pathfinder on my part
Depending on the campaign you could use the Only War Rules. Allows for a more honest representation of all the various Warrior Paths that are available. The Advance System in Rogue Trader might be too restrictive. Since the character creation system is the same, you could add in the Eldar modifiers to Only War. There's a couple fan-made hacks of the FFG games that allows them to play as Xenos. Fear and Loathing in the Eastern Fringe and there's one that describes a few paths for Xenos under the Rogue Trader system. Can't remember the latter's name however. In any case, if a GM arrives I'd love to play. Been itching to play a Ranger for a while now.
I would be willing to GM on Saturday, but we would have to use FATE Core rules. I'm not into complex systems. My main interest is fun storytelling and interesting battles without all the heavy mechanics.
So, we got Richard, Robert, Cloud and Cain? Can you confirm? If so, we have all the players we need. I can start a campaign and add you all in the meantime.
Well first off - /m/, brother. Second, I am not familiar with FATE, but I don't care about the mechanics, I'm here for the story. I vote aye.
The FFG system is a lot less complex than it sounds. Especially the later versions, Black Crusade and Only War. Very streamlined. It also captures the setting really well. But that isn't system specific.

Yeah but...are you willing to GM? It's not so much the system, as it is preparation time. FATE is super quick for me to prepare a fun game and roll with whatever is going on without having to look up rules, and it's something I'm familiar with. FATE isn't setting or genre specific, so it's perfect for this type of game.
Never said don't play. I was just saying that you shouldn't count me among the players. Don't take it so personally.

So, if we all agree with using FATE, we got Michaelo to GM for us (thank you so much!). Who else is up for FATE? -S
Eldar My Eldar . It's a work in process, as I'm not sure when I want to run it or when others are available. I am no longer going to GM. I will run a different type of Warhammer 40k the same day. Sorry. Misunderstandings about the type of game.

A lot of sexy eldars with oiled up abs. THAT is what will befall you all.
Well, whenever you can send me a PM with an invite and I'll respond as soon as I can. Us Oily Eldars will make them Slimy Dark Eldars wish they never thought of the word Dark! Am I doing it right?
?
Trying to be funny. It didn't work.
Its so-so but slimy dark eldar? I don't wanna know what makes them so slimy.

Greetings again, beautiful community, I'll just repost here the details, but - in short - the game's a go. I've been meaning to start an RP for a very underrepresented faction of the 40k universe - the enigmatic Eldar race, who have an incredible lore capable of creating the most enticing stories (I would know, I've GM'd three or four Eldar RPs). I searched for a GM willing and capable of guiding us through this journey, seeing as none of my previous RPs had a means to resolve combat and I didn't know any easy and free engines that could work for this game... I was unable to find the right person, sadly, and in the end... I did have a story to tell, to share and to test, with you all - so I manned up and created a simple game engine of my own that would allow the game to be focused on the story and character development rather than battles and I created the maps in which the story will take place - the Fates have chosen, the stage is set - who'll come to dance the Dance Of Death? Note: For the game and story I drew a lot of inspiration from the Mass Effect games. I included the following features: -Players will have an evolving ship that will serve as a hub to trade, train and socialize. -Decisions the players make will change the course of the game dramatically. -Players will be gathering war assets for the final battle, and the ones collected or dismissed will determine the end of the story. -Players choose the NPCs they want to field on missions. -Several NPCs are included in both the hub and the missions - each have a story of their own, can be deeply interacted with, but can be killed. -Only five players are allowed at once. Vacants (3/5) Requirements:-Very good knowledge of Eldar lore. -Nothing else... That's right, voice and video are not required, I prefer text-based RP (we can do whichever the group decides). -S
Eldar are sweet, so you can count me as interested. Though how are you going to balance how OP Eldar weapons are in FFG 40K RPGs?
Well as I said, combat is by far not the focus of this game - the story and character development are. These missions will have about ten Eldar mostly trying to find the path of least resistance - the party may charge at an Imperial regimen but... Good luck. As for the scripted pieces of combat I'll encourage, they may take on a couple of Space Marines at a time or a squad of Genestealers - but each NPC and player will have (at least initially) their tabletop values converted into the system. I'll have a Skype meeting with the players when the party is full to explain the system I came up with, and inquire about any modifications they may want to do. -S
Text based and only needing good knowledge of Eldar lore? Yeah, you can definitely still count me as interested.

EDIT - nevermind, I'm moving my posts over to the correct LFG thread, rather than hijacking this one https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/2210890/eldar-rp...
