Possible Handout issue

I have created Handout to pass to the players, but seem to be seeing an issue. A GM when i open the handout there is a button to share the handout with players. Pressing this doesn't make the handout viewable to the players. If i edit the handout it will allow me to dictate which players can see the handout, but it become immediately visible to them. This isnt an issue as such, but i expected the button to share the handout with players to work in 1 of 2 way. It was either a quick way of sharing the handout or enabled you to predefine who could see on the edit screen in advance then use the button to share when ready. As such the share with players button doesn't seem to do anything. I'm I just being a little dim, or is there a problem with the handouts?
The way it's supposed to work is that it will actually force the handout to open for any players who have access to it. So if you go in and give access to the players (under "In Player Journals"), then press that button after you save, it will open on their screen. I may add a warning that pops up when you press that button but haven't shared the handout with any players yet to prevent confusion.
Ah, I see. I assumed it was a shortcut to issue a handout to all players quickly. It would be smoother if the tool to assign the handout to the players was avaliable on opening the handout, rather than having to go via edit.
