How do you do spells area affects

Hello. I have jus found this and since my normal group have all moved all over we plain to try to test this out to try to run a game for the first time without being face to face. Since I am the Gm I get stuck figuring it all out and then teaching them how to do it. So far it looks like it will work well for use to play a pathfinder game. One thing I can not see so far is how would me and the players cast spells onto the maps. The closet thing I can see so far is to draw them into the map each time and then the GM erases everything that was drawn. Is this the only way or is there a way to make square while casting that only last a momet. If the draw is the only way is there a way to erase only one thing and not everything on the screen. I am sorry if this was listed some where else and I could not find it.
I would suggest creating a small 'spell effect' token, and then giving that token an aura. Then, the player could just drag the token to wherever they are targeting, and the aura will show the effect range.
That would work for circle-rs stuff but how would you do a cone affect?
Cones unfortunately are a bit harder. You could make a template token, kind of like wargames use. However, you should be able to draw and erase a single drawing without erasing the entire board. Select the object you want to delete and either press backspace or right-click-->delete. Does that not work for you?
It will work as a temporary thing. I do hope you will add something later on though as spells are very very common for players and mg to use.
