Noob question!

I'm running a new campaign and in the book I'm looking at that has the list of spells, their texts are confusing and the way they're written some times so I just want some clarification :P Here's the first example: Teleport: Instantly transports you as far as 100 miles/level Normally in texts that I've read in other games such as GURPs and Star Wars Saga Edition, when a /level is written that usually means it's 100 miles divided by level meaning the higher level you are the shorter the distance you travel BUT I'm assuming it means for every level it's 100 miles bonus you can travel so at level 10 you can travel 1000 miles. Other spells in the book say this though, writing out the word instead of putting /level: Fireball: 1d6 damage per level, 20-ft. radius. The reason I was confused is mainly because if some of the spells are written out with damage per level like the fireball spell, then why not write it like 1d6 damage/level like a majority of the spells? It might just be poorly written in that case but I just want to clarify this before I start a campaign :P Anyways if it does mean per level, how would that apply to this spell? Lightning Bolt: Electricity deals 1d6/level damage. Would this mean you add 1 hit dice per level or add 1 to the damage per level? Just a heads up, I've checked and the book does not clarify on any of this XD

At least as far as Pathfinder is concerned: Examples: 7th level caster does 7d6 damage  5th level caster does 5d6 damage 9th level Teleport can go 900 miles

Just didn't want something going wrong with the balancing later on in the campaign XD Just weird how it's both written and abbreviated o.o
Oblivinati said: Here's the first example: Teleport: Instantly transports you as far as 100 miles/level Pathfinder is always per level so this is 100 mile (per) level. 1d6/level means roll a 1d6 for every caster level. 1d6+1/level  means roll a single 1d6 and add 1 point per level. As for why it's written like this, you have to remember that most of the effects and abilities are written over several different source books, released years apart from each other.  Paizo's editors haven't always been known for their consistency or lack of typos.
