Or will there be? This new layout is not more user friendly, first of. Second off its an eyesore too boot. Third all users were forced into it with no alternative. Is there going to be something that will allow the old look or something similar to be used for desktop users?

They have already said that this is here to stay. Some people have posted ways to use .CSS or whatever it is called to change the appearance of it on your own end, if it truly bugs you that much.

As has already been said, the new layout required many changes to the codebase, and as such it's not possible to use the old design before. And for the record, CSS does indeed modify layout as well as color. In the future if you have feedback on the layout (or anything else related to Roll20), please make sure that it's constructive and civil.
