City, town, general Map Tokens

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could help me? I'm trying to use town/city/etc tokens for my campaign map but can't find any free... Any ideas where I could make/find some? Ideally I was looking for something like this. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-fnu4l9OC09w/VDW... Thanks! Chris

While they are not free, these are probably what you would like to have.
Those symbols are from Campaign Cartographer 3, which is most definitely not free... but well worth the investment I believe.
Those are indeed awesome but not free... Any ideas for creating my own? Also, if I become a sponsor do I get any other benefits besides dynamic lighting?

If you're okay with something more abstracted, the Maki icon set (https://www.mapbox.com/maki/) is solid, and totally free. If you have Photoshop, Ramah's map element brushes from the Cartographer's guild are fantastic (http://www.cartographersguild.com/showthread.php?t=8095).
Chris, I believe that GIMP might be what you're looking for, it is a relatively easy to use tool but requires some fiddling to set up. In case you want to discuss it further, and want some help getting started using it, I've sent you my skype. Feel free to ignore it if you're not interested :)

Here is a guide on how to make maps with GIMP for Roll20 , it may not be 100% applicable in this instance but a lot of the skills are transferrable and the grid setup is useful.
Thank you all for your messages and input, this was my 1st post on the forums and I'm overwhelmed with all the responses! :-) I'll try Gimp sometime this weekend and see how that goes. On a side note, would I need to purchase Photoshop to use Ramah's map elements or would the trial version be enough? Thanks again all!

Chris, you can import those brushes into gimp also. You can google "abr in gimp" to find out how but it is rather easy.

By the way... that's my map. Did you see it here on the forums or elsewhere? Just curious. ^_^
I found it on the forums.. your map symbols are awesome in it and I was trying to find something similar :)
Token Tool will turn any image into a token, so it's really a question of where to find the right images. http://www.rptools.net/toolbox/token-tool/ I've been using Pinterest to collect artwork for my game. https://uk.pinterest.com/
