Macro's and combining Character Sheet elements

Not sure if this is something that has come up before. Macro's are great if you have per-determined variables. i.e. a player using their stats for a roll. For GM/Story Tellers/Dungeon Masters those variables change often. Is there a way to combine a macro hot button with a token on the board. For example my macro is making a roll to damage Instead of /roll wpn+Bonuses be "select attack roll cell" Have the macro button be "ATTACK ROLL" and you hold down say CTRL and click the macro button and then the token. On the token character sheet have a cell called "Attack Roll" input the macro in that spot instead. Now instead of having 20 macro buttons for 20 tokens you have 1 macro button that is universal to all your tokens. Obviously requires coding to be done, but right now the macro is useless for Story Tellers beyond a simple /roll 1d20
Hello Story Teller T, While this isn't precisely what you were getting at, I would like to inform you that there have been some changes to the macro tools released onto the Dev Server (accessible by users with Mentor accounts). Hopefully this quote from Roll20 developer Riley helps you get an idea of the new functionality: I just pushed out another update to the Dev Server which adds an additional field to the Macros called "Visible To". It's pretty self-explanatory, but basically it allows you to let other players (specific ones or "All Players") view/use macros that you create. So you can set up macros for your players which aren't as versed in the rolling system, for example. Once a player can see a macro, it will show up in their macro listing, and they can also add it to their macro bar just like any other macro. However, they obviously will not be able to open up the macro to edit it. They can use the shared macro as a nested macro inside their own macros, though. Using nested macros may cut down on the number of macros you are currently required to make, as the first half of your "weapon + modifier" equation can be nested, leaving only the modifier to be changed when necessary. If you have any additional comments just let me know, and I'll help however I can.
It is a great tool, but still doesn't help the player make that attack roll customized for them. :o( Thanks for the feedback however, i believe its just going to take some time for roll20 to tackle those large obstacles like character sheet customization for different games. As a developer i would love to see players of my system be able to utilize a more customized character sheet than the basic open, edit, close, roll, open, edit, close, roll...system that exists. All in all though i have not heard anything negative from players that use roll20. So kudos to roll20 for that.
