Post: LFG/LFDM in a two part request.

I am looking for two potential things: an existing group and a DM; one for myself and one speaking for a group of friends. For a group; Games: DnD third or fifth, Shadowrun (any edition), Pathfinder Stars Without Number. I'd prefer a more 'serious' campaign if possible. Not necessarily grimdark, but not really silly either. I can play nearly any day at any time, barring a few regularly scheduled interruptions (to be discussed). For a DM: Potential group available for any of the games listed above, with emphasis on Shadowrun 5th and Stars. Notes: The group is across several timezones. Scheduling is variable (in a good way). Experienced GM (12 months+) preferred. Players (3-6 depending) are all familiar roleplayers and familiar with one another, but may not be familiar with the system depending on the game. Willing to learn. We, the players, would be willing to give a few weeks for said GM to feel out the position and create a campaign, no reason to start immediately. Additional notes: There are a few things that should be discussed via private message if at all possible. If interested, please inquire.
For your group, what timezones need to be incorporated. I am currently working on a game with a time slot designed for the international community.
Unfortunately it varies a great deal. I'm GMT-5, most of the group is -1 but a few are +2
The time slot I had in mind is about noon est on Saturdays. The exact time is a little flexible. How many are in the current group?
depending on the game type and time, three to six. Noon est might be a little early, 2-3 would be better if you can swing it.
I have finally settled on the cyberpunk setting Interface Zero 2.0 for Savage Worlds. I will be happy to teach people if necessary. I will see what I can do about the time.
While I appreciate what you're offering, Savage Worlds isn't really on the list of games we wanted to play. Gonna have to give it a pass, thank you though.
Welp, I think I might be an idiot. After doing some research there seems to have been some confusion. I'm Kit enough to admit I believe I was mistaken; though it wasn't entirely clear at first. Derp. Savage Worlds IS Shadowrun, isn't it? Or am I confused yet again?
It is a different system, but the world I am proposing is VERY similar. There is no magic, but there are psionics, called zeeks, and those who have become one with their implants, called cyber monks. There are also horrors spawned by science and pollution. Here is a link to the player's guide. http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/126119/Interface-Zero-20-Players-Guide?manufacturers_id=2212
Mmn. Some people have been saying it's the same thing, some people haven't. I can appreciate the similarities and the differences, but I've really got to fall back on my previous statement, I think... The group (now, if I'm joining another group it's a different matter entirely) wants to play from the list; not just for the system, but for the world(s) involved. For my part personally, I've got reservations. But you're quick to reply so I'll bring them forward. Not to sound harsh, but the games I listed are pretty clearly marked, yet you came in with a different game. A suggestion, perhaps, and appreciated, but what was the impetus for that?
I think that basically I am trying to be helpful, but I can only offer you something similar but not exactly. Really it is my desire to help possibly possibly getting in the way. If this does not make sense it is because I am having a hard time putting my reason into words. I think that, for now at least, this is the best I can offer you. Both as a GM offer and an explanation.
Oh I meant no offense. My reservation isn't of you, but of the system. I certainly appreciate someone trying to be helpful and understand more clearly. As I mentioned above there are some things about me and the group that should really be discussed quietly with a GM, so that's coming into play on my end. Heh. Still, I'm torn. On the one hand, I'm interested. On the other hand, having to start from the ground up with an entirely new concept is overwhelming for anyone. And I can only speak for the group so far. I think for now, the decision is going to have to stand for a pass. But genuinely, thanks again.
