Is there a better way to copy text from pdf files?

Because right now, the large majority of my time in setting up any kind of campaign using pre written adventures consists mainly of hitting backspace and spacebar realigning the insanely out of place formatting that seems to come from copy pasting text from pdf files.  Anyone know of a better way to go about this (aside from taking screen shots and using images of the text).

You can load a single pdf page per journal but then you would have an outrageous amount of journals to contend with. Even with tagging I think that would be more trouble to wade through then it's worth. I've been forced to do the backspace  spacebar dance also. Sorry that I can't offer any more help than that.
Download Notepad++, it's a pretty awesome text-editor anyway, so everyone should have it :) Then paste the PDF text into an empty window there. Once you did that, mark the first paragraph  or the lines that you want to have in one and press Ctrl+J (or Edit/Line Operations/Join Lines), and voila, all those little lines are now one. Repeat with the following paragraphs. Then Ctrl+A everything and copy/paste it into Roll20 It's not perfect, but definitely faster than backspacing every single line. However, why do you want to copy large amounts of text like that into Roll20 anyway? I mean sometimes, sure, but you don't need the entire PDF online.
no I don't need the entire pdf, but I like to bring all the important bits that i might need to reference in.   Tabbing back to look at pdfs outside of roll 20 I found to be a bit of a hassle while im running a game.  Thanks for the idea ;D

Thanks a lot! Never knew about Notepad++, and copying from WotC pdfs always annoyed me, and even though this is not a perfect method (as you said yourself) it sure is MUCH less tiring than click+backspace every single line.
yea, speeds up the process about 10 fold ;) it's a pretty nice alternative to forking out extra cash for a paid pdf reader to unlock a bunch of other features I wouldn't use.
