Some Advanced Questions.

Hey there. When I first started out on Roll20 I posted some questions on these forums and got an amazing response from the community.which helped me a great deal. Now that I am a little more experienced with the system I once again have a few (more advanced) questions that maybe some kind person could help me with? Edit: Just to clarify this is running DnD 5e with the shaped 5e character sheet. Faster Token Actions: Is there any way to automatically set up a token action? My current method is: use macro on sheet -> copy it from chat box -> paste it into character sheet. Is it possible there is a more efficient, time saving way to automatically place a premade macro on a token? Blocking vision/light without blocking the object itself: I -LOVE- dynamic lighting. I think it's utterly fantastic and adds so much flavor to a game. However, my one little gripe is that I cannot set up an object to block LOS/lighting without also blocking it from being seen by my players. E.g. imagine a forest encounter at night where goblins are attacking travelers who are in their tents. I want the tents to block light, so I draw a border around then in the dynamic lighting layer. This makes the tents block light BUT it also makes the tends invisible to the players (which I don't want, the players should be able to see the tents and know what they are/what the setting it). Is there some elegant way to fix this that I don't know of? I know that there are many people are more experienced in the mechanical aspects of Roll20 who post here. Thank you for all of your help!

Place the contents, I assume adversaries, on top of the tents and right click the tent and "Move to Front", sort of like covering the bad guys with a blanket. You then run a line of D.L. down the ridge line of the tent. You can also make a tiny token with vision and put it inside the outline of the object, it will need a character sheet, I name mine "Camera" and give them a dim light source, If you want the edges to block movement as well as vision.

There are ways of exporting and reimporting token actions set as abilities but they will likely require the use of the API (A pro level perk), I know of at least one which allows to you 'teach' a character linked to a token an action based on another token and The Aaron has a beta version of a full character exporter/importer. Otherwise the way i do it is to have a document into which i copy all of the macros i use so that i can update them or reuse them with a simple copy/paste... while tedious it avoids putting the wrong one in the wrong place i suppose. As my collection of macros grew i had different documents for different 'genres' (attack, saves, spells, skills etc). You could just as easily house them in a journal entry/ y (ies) for quick in game access. No quick fix that i can think of sorry.

Maybe I'll think about going pro if The Aaron completes that script. Seems very interesting.
Re: Token Actions -  Depending on your usage scenario;  you could setup a "template" character that has all the token actions you might ever want to use on any character and export it to your Character Vault.  Whenever you're setting up a campaign or creating a new character later on, you can import that 'template' character into your game and tweak as needed.
