[LFP] FATE Core: Star Wars. 12:00 PM

This game is set in the Star Wars Universe but it will be using FATE Core system for game play. I want at least three players, four at the most. Currently have two so I'm hoping for at least one more. You can find all the relevant information on the link below. https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/28990/the-galac... If you are interested send me a private message or perhaps post where it says "New players post here"
Funny you should mention SW Fate.... link
Did this ever take off, I'm also interested in doing Fate star wars.
me too
I would be very interested in this is it ever happens. I have read FATE several times and thought it would be excellent for SWU but never went beyond that. Also, I have played a couple of hours of FATE and still not 100% comfortable, the reason I have not run it myself.
I'm down to try a game but I sadly can't GM because I've already got one game I GM already.
The first attempt just fell apart at the last minute. I realized, a little too late, that i had no idea how to translate The Force into FATE Core and ended up with three players in different time zones. At the same time i was hoping to come up with the big picture and let the players but the players didn't seem interested, which meant more work then i had planned on. Then school started... If i do try again i will probably run FATE Accelerated and i am leaning towards Text Only as i don't live alone and trying to find a quiet spot is not always easy.

I'm quite interested in how you tried to translate the force in your Core game, as I ran a SW game in Core, well I say I'm run...more like stumbled in the dark but hey, we had fun and that's all that mattered.
I've seen a couple of different ways to do it. I'm a fan of using the Extreme Effort option from the toolkit to represent the dark side, for one.
We more ore less agreed upon for the sake of simplicity, that if you wanted Force powers, you had to make note of it in your High Concept and essentially use a FP to use Force powers, stunts were more or less more specialized uses of the force such as Push, Heal, Lightning, whatever. It was fairly easy to do and the players weren't too bogged down with what they wanted to do.
So i'm still kinda interested in this, does anyone wanna maybe volunteer to GM? I bet we could get a few people on board.
I am guessing its a bust. Its been a week since I posted last and all we have had thus far is people willing to play. No mention of anyone willing to GM.
Hmmm, I am tempted to give it a try. I wish Roll20 would put timezones on profiles so you know how much of a time difference there is between players. I'm in US-Central time, what about you guys?
Pacific
Another question is what kind of campaign should we run. I was hoping for a smuggler type game, criminal factions fighting for control of the Outer Rim and the players choosing which sides to work for. Seemed like a good set up for a FATE game as it allows the players to decide who the important factions are.
I've never played FATE, but from the podcasts I've listened to the players and GM decide what, when, where etc for the campaign world because it ties directly into character building. I would be willing to GM but it would be a slow process because I've never played before.
I am Central time. As for a focus for the game? I want to be heroic and pulpy. I do not want to deal with issues of gray morality or being solely motivated by the accumulation of wealth. In fact I would look forward to a setting where there are consequences for actions at times. I am all about a little but of darkness, but at the end of the day, being a hero is where it's at.
Well, you could always be like Paladin from 'Have Gun, Will Travel' i.e. do the right thing and find a way to get paid for it. Hey that is what Han Solo did, right? A while back i played with some guys who ran a D20 Star Wars game, they were Rebel Privateers, or an inter-stellar Robin Hood if you want. Basically we would plunder imperial shipping and sell the loot for money but we only attacked imperial targets. We weren't exactly a part of the alliance so we could do whatever we wanted but they weren't always there to back us up.

So before we go further, I'm really new to roll20 but I see 8 people sign up for a game and 3 show. So I see 3 people talking about fate, only I show. We will need much more interest before I start planning and reading and committing. That being said, I will post a game for next Friday at 7 pm central time. We will see how much interest is gained. https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/1050352/star-wars-fate
