confused with dynamic lighting

Just got a subscription for more space and saw about the dynamic lighting. It's great since I have a horror themed episode coming up, but I am confused with how some things work. I got how to mark walls and obstacles, but I am not sure how to work player tokens and other light sources. When I turn characters into light sources (am I supposed to? I would rather do only if they have a torch or light source.) I am trying to use it as the only thing, and limiting the angle to 200 degrees to make it like they can't see what's behind, but the light comes from their asses instead of faces. The wrong side of the token. I don't even understand how the actual "line of sight" works, since nothing happens when I do it. and when I try to place a light source, like a torch, as a token, no one seems to be effected by it. although it is "all players see light." Thanks for all the help in advance. Sorry if posted before, there are just so many, mostly advanced dl questions that I needed a basic answer.

Hi Ori! For reference, the Dynamic Lighting wiki documentation, https://wiki.roll20.net/Dynamic_Lighting For the issue with the light coming out behind instead of in-front: GM can right-click the token and "Flip Vertical", this is a workaround way to repair the appearance of the direction of the light. Ideally the token would have been built/saved facing the direction that the light emits, but when it's not, you can Flip the graphic in Roll20 (flip not rotate) to resolve it. On some of your other questions I'm not as experienced myself, or how to explain it. I think that other users will come along to this thread to help. Try the Wiki Docs link above, also, for definitions of "line of sight" and "all players see light" settings.
Thanks! The doc confused me a little actually.
