Ho friends, thanks for the invite! I'm really excited to be a part of your campaign and I'm really looking forward to playing this weekend. I hope to be a good addition to the group. I have a few questions about the party composition before I go about fleshing out my character: I know the party makeup (Fighter, Rogue, Cleric, Sorcerer, and 2 Rangers I believe), but what is the general alignment and party goals. Are we more good-aligned or do we tend towards evil? Are we benevolent or kind of mean? I want to make sure that whatever the group's goals and play styles are that I design my character to align with them. That brings me to my second question. On my application I posted two character concepts, and I'm wondering which appeals more to you folks. The first is an ex-medical student from Calimshan who was expelled for exploring treatments that use, for lack of a better term, all kinds of kooky drugs. "Holistic remedies", he called them. Basically, this guy is a total hippie-stoner who loves nature and everything natural, and has developed his druidic powers by smoking and eating craaazy shit almost constantly. He travels the land looking to aid others where he can using his holistic medicines and druidic powers, and tries to stay out of trouble. His self-given name is 'Doc' Hazelwood. My second concept is a tiefling bard from Cormyr who was abandoned at birth and raised in the storage attics above a magnificent opera house by a sickly dwarven woman with nothing to her name. She taught him kindness, loyalty, and an appreciation for music and beauty. She died while he was still young, forcing him to make his own way in the city. Eventually he taught himself the bardic arts by studying the performers in the opera house below and developed an uncanny love for music. Eventually the opera house burned down, forcing him to take up a life of adventure in order to support himself, traveling from city to city seeking audiences, friends, and answers to his questions about his infernal heritage. His chosen name is 'Lyric', though he has never learned his true name. Also, for the DM, I have a few questions about character creation: • What level should I start at, and how should I roll attributes? • Do you use the native Roll20 5e character sheet, or a third party platform like Mythweavers.com? • Do you have any homebrew rules or systems in play I should be aware of, or any alternative mechanics (i.e the ones from the DM guide). • Is this a more roleplay or combat-focused campaign? Thanks again for the invite! I'm really excited!
