Default Token Not Saving Changes

I noticed this when playing on Friday (July 5th) as well as when i tested it over the weekend. If I create a default token for some of my player's characters and edit some of the bars (ex. adding 8/8 for bar 1) and either go to another map or just remove the token from the map and re-add it (by dragging the character from the journal tab), it will not have saved the changes even if I clicked save. The work around I found is that each time I change something about the default tokens I have to go to that character in the journal, remove the defualt token and re-add the one with the changed value. Am I doing something wrong or are default tokens meant to have all values re-entered at each map.
from what I have seen it only stores what was in it when set as the default token. however, linking abilities to the token through a character sheet allows them to be updated via the token into the sheet which should keep the new numbers/values.

OldSchoolChris is correct. You need to fully set up the token before making it the default token. When you make it the default token it will keep the settings it had at that moment. Linking the token's bars to the character sheet's Abilities will keep them updated in new copies of the default token. - Gauss
