DM Experience: 5 years, Fantasycraft, D&D 5e, 3.5, Pathfinder, Rogue Trader Type of players you prefer (RP, Exploration, Combat,...): It really depends on the group and the characters involved. The early handshake sessions would be a grab bag and we would go from there, unless you already have a campaign style in mind. Type of stories you prefer to create: Improv. I prefer to make actors and players in the game, give them goals, and see where that leads. Any information on the adventure(s) you're interested in creating: I would like to try my hand at a political subterfuge game, though I do have a sweet tooth for sword-and-sorcery Conan style adventures. If you have your own homebrew world please put a basic write up of it here as well. I have quite a few settings strung together loosely in a contiguous timeline, many of which are uninvested in. They are by no means the limiter to what can be done here though. 1st age: Norse god style setting; soaring mountains, vicious monsters, pretty close to the creation of the universe in terms of how raw things are -Epic Adventure, in the style of Odysseus, Jason, Sigfried and the like 2nd age: Elder aberration setting; beings from outside reality came to mess with it, the beginnings of coming out of the bronze age, the subjugation of most of the sentient races, and the time of mind flayer empires and aboleth deep-kingdoms -Grim Adventure, you will be hounded at every step by beings beyond comprehension who view mortals as one would a drop of water: interchangeable, unremarkable, and good to drink 3rd age: First civilization setting; monsters have been beaten back from concentrated civilized areas, the shackles of elder beings have been thrown off, and mortals are making the most of themselves. Roman dwarves, greek elves, mongol orcs, and relics of shattered aberrant empires out in unconquered wilderness. -Political/Delving Adventure, can really swing whatever way 4rd age: Fairly standard D&D setting, close to core 3.5 greyhawk deities and locales -this one was the first I ran, if you are looking for the D&D style it is here 5th age: Gray Sun, undead themed setting; the sun bathes the landscape in negative energy, and in the wake of cataclysmic natural disasters the world is thrown into the hands of the undead. Vampire nobles, Ghoul armies, Robo-gnomes, Ancient Mummy empires, and undead hordes. -Survival/General: one of my more developed settings, I currently have a group in it and am comfortable running most anything. Again, this is what I have worked on. If a certain flavor of setting is needed, it can be done. I do not run campaigns, you folks take up campaigns. The story goes as far or as close to home as you drive it, and the overall goal is fun. All this being said, I do prefer the system I am currently using, which is Fantasycraft. It is quite crunch heavy, and the core book is poorly organized, but it approaches both combat and social aspects of the game in meaningful balanced ways, where playing an unarmed nonmagical character is just as specialized and viable as a pure martial, while shining in their own situation. Learning to a new system and converting characters can be trying, especially with one as big as this, but it is the best one I have played with to date, and if too much trouble we can fall back on 5e, which I have run before. I am on US Pacific time, available on Sunday in the evenings and Monday before evenings. Contact me for further information or game planning if you are interested.
