So, for more information, i decided to wait tll after gam and post because the setting is kinda non-standard Timezone is EST 7pm-11pm Wed/Fri Current party is Rogue, War Cleric, Gunslinger(more on this later) Current level of the party they jsut dinged 3, id start you off at 2 rolling for stats no niche that needs to be filled, you can do what you want. Its a sandbox world where things happen but the party is just four people. In many dnd games you can, for example, craft full plate armor, but it takes 6 months, and because its so long and the BBEG will kill you in 6 weeks when he tracks you down you can never stop, so it dont happen. Here, you just handwave 6 months and make the armor. If the BBEG(one of the many) ends up taking over a kingdom. Oh well. Thats the world now. Your not obligated to do anything about it. In the setting i also borrowed alot from ebberon, from lightning rail concept to some other stuff. Guns are a thing. Technology is a thing, but its source is not mundane. In the setting as a group we ended up calling it Technomancy, and basically you enslave a fire and water elemental to a small metal item, the fire heats the water and makes infinite steam, turns a turbine, and you have a basic steam engine. Using that, you extrapolate items that can be made; A modern day lighter (single enslaved fire) A wrist mounted reuseable flame thrower (burning hands but in a tech device, fire ele) Indoor plumbing (water ele in the tank, fire ele to incinerate the waste in the 'throat') sinks(water ele) Blender (jug with earth elemental that grinds things) And so on. even air-ship/zepplin combo things. Anything you can extrapolate that could function from having elementals do things in different ways. Even mechanical arms (complicated tech powered by hundreds of small hydraulic accuators, various elementals power the parts with ONE storm elemental being bound to your body, interfacing with the arm and using its elec powers to force it all to move how ou want) and prosteics It makes the setting more of a high fantasy/steam punk setting. One of the players found a good list of guns as well as a balanced gunslinger class online, so its an avalible class. The rule system we use is 5e, however i am coming from 3.5 and grew up on 2e. As we play i am learning the changes from 3.5 to 5e and getting used to 5e balance, but i already know that i am going to be using some of 5e's opitonal DMG rules, and some actions and other rules from 3.5 are gonna be put back in (like the Charge action) We also arent looking for half commited people just dipping their toe. So if you play in other games on roll20 then we will pass. We are only looking for people that will be playing ONLY thing game with us. If your in 3 games a week and this is your 4th your not REALLY commited to any of those games, your just dipping your toes in a bunch of waters to see what you like before you quit. Also, if you are starting a new job or gong to college or something and in the next forseeable future you know your going to have to drop due to class please ignore this post. This is my final group and i dont want it to dissolve. After 3 years on roll 20, 1.5 with a stable group and then 1.5 with no grup lasting LONGER than 3 weeks i have found i have played with well over 125 different players across 20+ groups. I am done. Either this group lasts or i wait till my kids are old enough to play. That is why the "this game only" and "forseeable schdule changes" are mentioned.
