One of my players (Namely my little brother) has moved away to Lindsay for school and I may very well be looking to start a new game soon but I'm not certain about who in my circle will be playing. Thus, I'm wondering if there's anyone around in Toronto that might be looking for a group. We've barely talked about what kind of game we want to run next nor what times we want to play, I'm just collecting names of possible players. I live near the Midland and Kingston intersection but we'd probably be playing down by Warden and Kingston. I'd expect anyone would want to meet somewhere public first though, as is par for the course when talking about safely meeting new people online. Feel free to send me your email if you might be interested.
Hey you should ck out Roll20.net it lets you play pathfinder on your computer with people all over the world. This Virtual Tabletop will let you reconnect with your little brother and any new player you want without having to leave your house :)

Point of interest: I will be/am trying to run a game online but I would also like to actually see people with my own eyeballs
That makes using the Roll20 program seem kind of redundant, there is a camera feature to roll20 aswell.

Can't tell if trolling or just doesn't get it
They're offering helpful advice. Recognizing that rather than as trolling is an acquired skill though. In any case, this community isn't terribly huge. You may indeed find someone from your area, but there's a pretty small chance of managing that here. So on the 99.9% chance that you don't find someone from your area on these forums, their advice comes as the next best option.
He's wondering why you're using the Roll20 system, if you're going to play in person. 'Cause then you don't really need the Roll20 system.

So how about this; lets say someone is putting up threads to find players on lots of different forums because they live in a relitively small area like scarborough and they want to cast a wide net. Lets also say that the roll20 forum is one of many forums this person tries because it has a fair number of members and they're already using the software on the site anyways. From this we can make a few assumptions: -This person isn't expecting to find alot if any players on roll20, but instead ust trying their luck -This person isn't looking for more online games -This person already know how to use the software on the roll20 site Now considering that, don't comments pointing out obvious features of roll20 to try and promote roll20 sound a bit sarcastic to you?
You have a serious chip on your shoulder dude. You posted in the Roll20 forums and you're now disparaging those who are talking about Roll20? "So how about this... I have some very specific caveats to this post that noone could have known about and that makes everyone else a sarcastic idiot" You see how people are trying to help you and you've gone off on a rant because it's not what you want to hear?
Not all features are obvious to everyone, nobody has said anything that wasn't trying to help you.

I'm irritated because 9/10 threads I start to try to find players get derailed by people trying to advise me about playing online instead of around a real table, and all too often do people in general try to give me advice that I already know and I've purposely not followed for a good reason which bugs the crap out of me.
The problem is that you're advertising for an offline game in an online forum with no guarantee that you'll reach your intended audience and you're cluttering up the message board with useless posts.
