gifs not working in My Library

I have a couple monster tokens I made as gifs, and when I uploaded them, they didn't load. I converted them to pngs, uploaded them, and they worked. I'd rather use gifs since they are smaller in size the overwhelming majority of the time.

Have you tried JPG? JPG is a compressed format like GIF is, but the JPG compression does not lose quality in the same way. (Of course, if you require transparency, then JPG is a no-go.)
@Mike GIF should work. https://wiki.roll20.net/Image_Best_Practices_for_Roll20 . Do you get any error message when it failed to upload? You also might take Brian's suggestion.

I'm having a similar problem. My gifs are uploading I think, then all I see in the library is an image icon, the square with an x in the middle. Not what I uploaded. No error or anything. A friend is having the same issue. Any ideas? Edit: I cant use jpg, because I need transparency in the images.

David, I would recommend converting the gifs to pngs since you need transparency.
Converting to PNG worked, Thanks.
I wasn't receiving any error message. The images have transparency, so it needs to be either gif or png. I do have some older files in my library that are gifs and they are working fine. It seems like it is just a problem with new uploads that are gifs.
@Mike, I would just use PNG in the mean time. You should be able to convert images to PNG without much of an issue. I'll look into what is causing the issue with GIF's in the mean time.

Mike, the issue is a bad reference after GIF files are converted to JPG to be used inside Roll20. If you drag and drop the GIF directly onto the table top from outside of the app, and not from your libary it will work around the problem until we're able to fix the issue.
Thank you for working on this I am having the same problem, to get my tokens and transparencies working I have to keep adding gifs and it is cloggin up my library. I will try converting to pngs
Alright. Thanks for the update and workaround.
