Organizing Handouts

I tend to use bunches of handouts throughout any of my games: pictures of NPCs, clues, letters, buildings, etc. I also tend to break my adventures down into acts and scenes. Instead of a long alphabetical list of my handouts, it would be nice to group them into 'folders' with handouts tucked underneath. Example: (How it works right now) Say right now I have: Handout 1 Handout 2 handout 3 ... Handout 24 etc. It would be tidier like this: Act 1 Act 2 Act 3 Act 4 If I clicked on one of those to expand I would see: Act 1 Handout 1 Handout 2 Act 2 Handout 3 etc. My handouts are tied to various acts and scenes, often they are clues for the players. It would be easier (and I would make less mistakes) going right to the particular folder I need for the correct handouts rather than scrolling down the list and inadvertently showing the players the wrong one :) Just a thought.
I agree. I prefer to tie my handouts and characters to locations. Essentially the same concept would apply.
Supporting the suggestion of folders for handouts.

Nice idea! -- Pete.
Yes please! A folder system (mahaps with expand/ collapse goodness) to organize my increasingly large selection of handouts would be awesome.
Look ma! I search the forum for the thing I want and didn't just make a new post! This. Yes please!

Yes I support all folder systems be they macro, page, char, or handout. We need folders!!!!
We need the same for Journal Entries, I mean I have all my Random encounter monsters in my journal list with their own macros and in order to organize them, I list them with (MC) so that they are easy to find in the great big list, but if I could have folders like "Monsters", "PCs" and "NPCs" that would be awesome. I don't have much trouble with the handout section, but I do keep a sheet for my own notes on certain things to track the PCs progress, and then I have an Experience listing sheet for them as well to show them.
good idea !
Yes I support all folder systems be they macro, page, char, or handout. We need folders!!!! Totally! And Subfolders. And Subsubfolders. And...
I would definitely support this idea!
Cluster is much more flexible, and has a lot more potential for additional uses ala "Personal Brain", or possibly tinder box style. Also, if memory serves, TB style stuff is html. A more likely candidate, does cluster AND folders, hyper-links to maps, images etc. etc. etc. I've seen examples (oh where were they?) of entire sites, top to bottom, using both styles. Folders are ok too.
I completely agree wit this as well. I have just started using the hand out system for my soon to be rebooted game and am finding it a night mare to remember how I labelled all the handouts i am using. I have handouts for clues, locations, scenes, items etc.
