[LFP] DnD 5.E Thursday night campaign (5-6 Start EST 9-10 End)

[About Me] Hello to anyone reading, I'm a seasoned player and DM of 3.5-5E. I'm Rob age:27, I have hosted and played many games on Roll20 and I'm pretty familiar with the interface. I currently am only available on Tuesdays and Thursday due to real life crap/work. I would really like to get back into a DM position because its been awhile since I have hosted a game. I have some pretty fresh ideas (not an undead plague) for a campaign. [The Game] I'm currently looking for around 3-5 players experienced or not with 5.E or Roll20 in general. My hope is to have an ongoing campaign with said players that lasts for awhile, and includes combat, roll-playing, and notable NPCs. The setting of the campaign will revolve heavily on your choices as characters, backstories, classes. I like to do a solo "intro" session with players to get to know you and your character/how you play (though not necessary). We will be running 5.E with all classes/races available. We will be rolling stats (4d6 drop the lowest) because I generally run a campaign with "powered" characters. [My DM Style] I am a pretty laid back guy and like to have serious and funny moments in my campaigns. If my PCs wanna try something crazy, go for it. I do stick heavily to the rules but I also like to let stuff slide when needed for a more enjoyable experience. I roll all my dice in person, therefor you will not see my dice rolls via Roll20. I do like for my players to roll dice rolls in Roll20 though. This gives me the opportunity to add suspense to a roll and gives a more person to person DnD experience in my opinion. That being said I do not skew any roll made by me or another person. I also like to edit monsters in the DnD Monster Manuel to fit my needs, giving a variant to the experienced DnD player. [Requirements] -English speaking only (I took French and Spanish in high-school and can't remember any of it) -Microphone and or ability to chat live with others through Roll20 or [Skype]. (Video is not needed unless we ALL decide to) -Availability of Thursday nights (Start time of 5-6 p.m. EST  End time 9-10 p.m. EST) (4 or so hour sessions) -Have a general idea of your character and be able to roll-play he/her -New and experienced players are welcomed -Mature players are preferred with a sense of humor -No problems with expletives in voice or game chat. -a brain [End] Thank you for reading and if this sounds like it could be fun for you and me then please leave a comment below or feel free to message me. Thanks!
Wow, I just logged into roll20.net for the first time in months, and I see a D&D 5e game immediately. As I'm typing this, it says that the OP was posted 4 minutes ago (that's when the page loaded and before I started reading. I can play at those times. I live in Central Time, which means that the earliest this game will start is at 4 PM and the latest it will end is at 9 PM. Not a bad schedule, as I'm free during those times. I'm interested in playing a simple archer Fighter using just the basic rules (which I printed out to test my printer's double-sided printing feature). I figure that a simple character with a semi-complicated backstory and personality would be fun to play. Before I develop my character further, though, I'd like to know more about the setting as well as the other players (assuming I'm added to this game).

Well as I said the story will be developed heavily on what the PCs do/pick as classes/races. If the time seems fine to you, welcome aboard. I'll contact you shortly with details to talk further if you would like. Message me if you still want in and can meet the requirements.

I guess we can discuss stuff on Skype, as you're already doing so with other players. My username is aron_times.
Hey there Rob. I'm a "new" player in that I've never taken part in a game myself but I've sat in on my friend's sessions a few times, read up on the material, follow a few podcasts that run the game (Crit Juice, Adventure Zone, Nerd Poker, Harmontown; Though these podcasts don't really follow the rules 100% of the time) and love gaming in general. I've been incredibly interested in playing DnD myself but my circle of friends no longer hold sessions because everyone is so busy. If you wouldn't mind having a newbie roll along with you I'd love to get my feet wet with someone who knows how to play the game, makes interesting adventures, and seems to be a relaxed person. You seem to fit all 3 of these based on your post. I learn fast and if you feel like I'm slowing you down or causing things to not flow, I won't be hurt if I have to bow out.  If you'd like to talk further you can PM me with any questions or for skype info.

Looks like you have enough interest in this, but if someone here drops out I could possibly fill their spot. I'm already in the midst of a 5e campaign with my friends, but we've played on weekends so far so I think I could easily play both without a schedule conflict. c:
Early on Thursday's work great! (Thurs night football is starting :D)  Hi guys I'm still looking to get in my first roll20 game. I have a ton of D&D experience though. In person group just can't seem to 'make' the time. I'm open to playing pretty much all races and classes (hate playing any kind of heavy magic user tho). Love a deep story and a dedicated group makes things better. Totally up for a longer campaign too. I have a human barbarian ready to go complete w backstory. I'm 43 and live in Winnipeg, central time zone. Lemme know thx
Definitely interested in this if you're still taking applicants. I've got experience with D&D going back as far as AD&D, including 5E, and I've been looking for a game to join. I prefer to play divine spell casters so let me know if this is something you'd like!

Hey everyone, thank you for the overwhelming response, I'm going to start talking with people over the next few days. I want to figure out what kind of class/ race you would be interested in playing and possibly a short backstory. With everyone that has either messaged me or replied to this thread, I will most likely be running atleast 4 people, probably 5. I will try to contact everyone that has replied on this thread or in private message to let you know whats going on. I will be busy with work the next few days, but will try to contact you all asap. Hopefully we can get some character building/ introductions this Thursday. (if not before then) Thanks again for all the interest in this campaign! [Side Note] I would prefer to talk to you all on Skype (Skype is my preferred method of chatting for this campaign.) Please send me your info or a message requesting mine. (if you see me on Skype don't hesitate to call or message first, just add a little "so and so" from Roll20, I will do the same.)
