"Show to Players" not working

Mind you, could be user error :) but I have been testing my adventure with another account I have and any Handout I have created as GM, when I click the "Show to Players" button nothing happens. I am logged into another computer as a Player (for test purposes) and never see the Handout appear. As GM, I can only edit the handout so that it appears for all players, then it appears on their handout list, they open, etc. Ultimately it will get shared but I wanted to unveil quickly in game for drama purposes, hence using the "Show to Players" button. And there are some Handouts designed for show only and not meant to be shared afterwards. I was originally running GM via Firefox. Player was in Chrome. I swapped that and ran GM in Chrome and player in Firefox and still not working.
Can you make what you are trying to show your players into a campaign page? Then you could move your players to that page, all of them would see it at the same time, and just move them off that page when they don't need to see it anymore.
That is not a bad idea, and might work for my shorter adventure. But the primary one, where I noticed the bug, already has about 20+ Handouts and that would make a helluva lotta pages :) Plus it is 5-acts (each its own page), 3-5 scenes per act (each its own page), and then map pages for specific encounters, at least after I finish creating everything :). More than anything, I just wanted the developers to know this feature was apparently broken (at least for me).
You have to give the players permission to view the Handout first. Then you can click "Show to Players" and it will show to any players who have permission to view it.
Um, I am a bit confused then, because I see no way of giving them permission. On a handout, I have "Show to Players" and "Edit". If I click on "Edit", there is the box "In Player's Journals", an option per character or "All Players". With that option, it is already in a player's Journal and nothing stopping them from looking any time. So I must be missing something somewhere :) And I don't see any option to do this under the Character > Edit. The behaviour I am expecting is say: Investigating a the room of a murdered gentleman, searching for clues. If they make a roll, I open the Handout, click the "Show to Players" and they can read (and see) the result of the clue they discovered. As they are reading, I quickly go into Edit mode, and ensure that Handout is now in all Players' journals so they can go back and look over clues at any time. I hope that makes sense. Because, I am unable to do that right now. And since this response is from Riley (who would know what he was talking about :) ) I must be missing something :)
