150829 The Death of Argo - When Cemetery Trees Attack !

I keep wondering if Le'Axel can climb the wall -- being in that corner -- and maybe get above the trees & fire. Being a 'spider near the ceiling' is better than toasted elf.
Climbing is my initial thought. I am wondering if there is a ceiling and if so how did the trees grow inside? (opportunity to disbelieve). Pretty sure I can save myself but it will kill most in the area.
It's open to the outside. There is no ceiling over this area.
I said i was going to the crypt its safe. i'm not going to meta game it. lol

I can burn all the trees to charcoal if we need to, but honestly - they'd make a better line of defense to have the Orcs rush into, if we want to use them for such - now that we know how to get them not to attack us. Better to explore the basement, collapse the ant tunnels to protect our rear/flank and then loot mine the area.
this is only 1 building of an overrun town, lets not forget that folks, unless i misunderstood the "mission".
wandering around in this town, now overrun by monsters, would not be recommended. moving secretly around the temple from the outside though, is a possibility with lower risk, if not spotted by the guards along the upper walls that you all saw when you came into the burned out temple supposedly run by the slavers.
*out of Character - did the party already search BEHIND the mausoleum - it looked that the pathway went into a cave or something behind it?

The other problem being that a ball of fire and burning from the trees in a courtyard exposed to the sky went off, followed by a bolt of divine lightening and thundering avatar of a God appearing and then disappearing. Is "secret" possible at this point? (OPTION 1) I mean, we might be best to pull open the crypt's coffins and hide while any searches go on and play possum. Allow Shenjo to wander around invisible to let us know when they scouts are coming, and hide the intrusion(s) by taking the bodies of those killed and setting them a flame to hide their specific species so its looks like the intruders died a horrible death ... like in the tree area? I suspect they avoid that place and won't investigate a pile of smoldering bodies amidst their numbers. More so given its a temple and a God just manifested upon its grounds. Option 2: Someone said Doppelgangers... we impersonate them, as if they adopted our aspects/appearance. perhaps even doing the Star Wars thing. Leading the "prisoners" to a location we wish to go/ aka "da boss" for questioning. Option 3: Accept that we are not stealth and POWER through the remaining areas. There seem to be a number of areas the may lead to the ants, should we start confirming such, or does the possibility of such an encounter mean a more certain death than the orcs coming ?

We need Charles back. That Sharpshooter would mangle guards on the walls :P
In a pinch, we could go down the stairs in the micro crypt and have Karmadel do his 'stone' spell which could 'close' the opening and make it look like it's not there. Only downside is, we might have to retreat back UP through that spot so... And yes, between the fires and a phreaking GOD showing up... we aren't exactly being super stealthy. Then again, wasn't this about how the 'super stealthy' mission underwater went? :p
How about moving your super stealthy mission #2 conversation over to this weeks DM Session Log post here ... https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/2439110/150919-a... there is a new one each week ;)
