Token actions not being displayed in the proper order

All of my token actions are being displayed in alphabetical order instead of in the order I have them on the character sheet. For example, if I have the following actions in the following order on my character sheet: Multiattack, Greatsword, Longbow, Second Wind, Saves, and Skills, roll20 will place them in the following order when I select the token: Greatsword, Longbow, Multiattack, Saves, Second Wind, and Skills. I am not using any template for character sheets, just the standard roll20 sheet. This is new since the update was rolled out yesterday.
Riley D. said: Token Action Ordering There have been quite a few requests for players to have better control over the ordering of your token actions. What we've done is replaced our current system that grouped token actions by source with a system that puts them in alphabetical order. Now, if you want finer control over the ordering of your token actions you can number them or use some other naming convention.

As this is not a bug but expected behaviour under the new release I'll move this to specific use questions.

Riley D. said: Hmm. The goal with the change to the Token Actions ordering was to give more control, not less. To be honest the control that it seems some folks were exerting previously (by ordering them in the Abilities Tab) was not necessarily "intended" -- I think it was a side effect of an unrelated feature. So we didn't design in purposely that way, it just happened that way, which is why we thought changing it wouldn't affect anyone. Our goal is to eventually get to a point where you can drag and drop the token action buttons and order them how you want just like the quick macro bar, but there are some additional technical hurdles preventing us from doing that thus far. We will likely add an option so that you can get the old behavior back if you want it as a temporary measure, but when we reach the point that you can re-order them in the token bar we will remove that option.
This is disappointing. Thanks for the replies though.
At least we now know how to control it, this is an improvement over "It is a mystery why the macros fall into order."

Users had control over the ordering, though the technique may not have been widely known. Greysion shared an excellent GIF animation that shows how it was previously possible to manually intentionally re-order your Token actions, under the Abilities tab, click to see the picture link in this quote from another related thread, Greysion said: This is how you easily organised your macro tokens beforehand (GIF). It worked really well and organised the macro bar at the top of the window in the same order that the one in the abilities sheet was ordered in.

If you only had abilities or only macros in the token action bar, yeah. But if you mixed them together things got less controllable.
Which is why I never used campaign setting tab macros except in the bottom bar.

Hi Mike - Good news! We've pushed out a small change that I think you'll be happy about. From Riley: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/2445162/new-upda... "We've just pushed out an update which adds a new Setting to the My Settings tab called "Alphabetically sort Token Actions." By default it is enabled (which is the new behavior that was pushed out in the update on Tuesday), however if you un-check it then you should get the "old" behavior again where the Token Actions are not sorted alphabetically." Since your original issue is now resolved, I will close this thread. Thanks!
