LFP: Diablo, the Fateless (D&D 4th edition)

I've had this game on my mind for a long time, and thought I would drop in to see if there was any interest. The game would take place in Sanctuary, directly after Reaper of Souls, and it would run using Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition as a core, with some re-skinning to capture major Diablo themes.  During the fight with the Nepahlem, Malthael unleashed the black soul stone on the world, spreading death in its wake. It cascaded through the sky like a comet, and it left behind a path of chaos in its wake. People were killed instantly, their souls bound to the Reaper to help him cleanse Sanctuary of those whose souls were half demonic. It only flew through the sky for a short time, but during that times thousands upon thousands of souls were claimed. But a few were spared death. A few lay in the path of the comet and survived while those around them were killed by the soul stone's power. And those few were changed, suddenly exhibiting powers they had never known before. Some deep potential was awakened that night. Who are these people? Why were they spared? Will they use their new found powers for vengeance, or to help heal a damaged world?  The game would take place weekly, and there would be a lot of combat. That's the reason I'm choosing to go with 4th edition. Say what you will about its place within the Dungeons and Dragons hierarchy, but it is an excellent combat simulator. I'm open to people playing pretty much any official class. Obviously everyone is human, but I'm okay with people choosing different races and flavoring that as part of the potential wakened by the Soul Stone's path through the sky. Players will be some of the few that survived that terrible night. The game will pick up right as the night is ending, with players being forced to find a way to survive, and eventually move on to investigating why they survived, and what their new found powers mean. I have a basic idea of the plot in my mind, but I'm a firm believer in letting player's make decisions and letting them affect the world around them. Obviously I'm not Blizzard. I don't have the official version of events after Reaper of Souls. This is just a fun story I have in my mind about what MIGHT happen. I will try to stay true to the lore we already have though. I like to think I know a fair amount about the world. Finally, the game would start at level one, and I will require people to keep updated character sheets in Dropbox. Voice chat will be handled over Skype.  Is anyone interested? I'm looking for 3-5 people to form a group.
A shame it's 4th edit (I think 5E does combat excellent, without making it drag on for hours), but it does sound fun! Should probably add some info about day/time/timezone - might be interested if it fits time wise c:
4th Edition treats combat a lot like miniature games like Warhammer and Heroclix. It's not the same, but it is a system designed around the idea that moving pieces around on a grid and using dice to attack with crazy powers should be the focus of the night. Which, in a lot of ways, moved away from some of the things that make Dungeons and Dragons a truly great experience. 5th Edition goes back to the idea that combat is a way to supplement exciting story points. It's still flashy and exciting, but it isn't as gritty. I really like both editions for the different things they bring to the table. The reason I am picking 4th edition is because I would like to retain a bit of Diablo's video game feel. In 4th edition everyone has neat things they can do right out of character creation, and I really like the at-will/encounter/daily powers. More than that, I can adapt in game powers quickly to 4th edition, and then allow players to swap their powers around however they like once a day.  This would be a game that focuses on gritty combat a lot. There will be rp, and the players will get to drive the story in very core ways. But there will hardly ever be a session with at least one combat encounter. All that being said... 5th edition is pretty robust, and if enough people were interested in the Diablo concept but don't like 4th edition, I could be persuaded to switch over. Finally, I'm in the eastern time zone, and I would want to run the games on either Monday or Wednsesday evening around 7pm. But I'm flexible on some weeknights and during the day on weekends if that works better for other people.
Alwyas looking to play, and I might have another player that would be interested.  really depends on schedule
Awesome. What kind of schedule would work for you?
