Returning but new to 5e player looking for newb friendly group....

It's been like 12 years since I've played. v.3.5 was the last time I played and before that was AD&D 2ed but that was like 25 years ago. So...I have an idea, but it's been so long I'm pretty much a newb and should be treated as such. I'm on the east coast and have a rotating work schedule so I can't commit to the same day of the week to play in most cases. I just printed the player manual so I'll be looking that over and rolling a character, most likely a dwarf or half-orc warrior type, if those kind of characters are still viable in 5e. So please...if you think you can fit me in...I'd love to start playing again.

If your not 100% set on 5e I might be able to find a game for you. It depends on how far in advance you get your work schedule and what time slots your free for. I run a game that at one point was based on Swords & Wizardry which is a 0e retro clone. 

Well...not 100% set on 5e though that's what I'm most interested in. One of the versions of D&D. I've never heard of S&W...I'll check into it. As far as work, I know my schedule in advance for ∞ ...lol
