So I just got Mage 20....

And i'm having a bit of trouble, well wrapping my head around it. This is my first actual book for Mage and while i have vampire and werewolf 20, and have read up a lot on mage, actually having EVERYTHING in front of me makes it a bit overwhelming. In short I'm looking for someone to... A: Help me understand Mage a bit better, the general stuff i know, its the details. B: maybe run a short 1 shot or very limited session game (talking about 3 sessions at most prob) just so i can wrap my head around it. c: someone willing to be patient so i can understand most of the aspects of mage, not just the core traditions but im curious about astral realms and other mage factions too. My times are a bit limited and weird right now. Im EST and what i can do is Tuesday afternoon, Tuesday very late, Thursday morning, Friday afternoon, and Friday very late. i can do Saturdays and Sundays too, prob at any time really, but it would be unreliable. (Sorry I can't be more specific, but I really can't be) After i get the hang of this i'll look into running or playing the game properly. (knowing myself more than likely running something) I'm not looking someone experienced with Mage 20 (after all ti just came out) but someone experienced with Mage as i feel that's where most of my issues are.
still looking.
Wish I could help, but I'm in basically the same boat. I've only played in one game of mage half a decade ago or so. I vaguely recall it being enjoyable, and have thought about digging into it a bit, but it's always been a bit daunting with so much history and setting to get into.
the setting for the most part i understand the general concepts (trying to sort out all of oWod cannon in my head into something sensible took care of that) its mainly just using magic itself and well, the little stuff like mage interactions and what not. The vast overreaching stuff i mostly understand.... mostly. the horizon and astral are what im having trouble with, and sadly that's something i am really interested in. After I understand that i'll see what I can do about putting a game together myself, but for werewolf and vampire there is simply more stuff online, games on youtube and whatnot, that i can draw from so i have something to base off of. So I suppose i would also be up for someone just letting me sit in on something too.
Hi.  I am very interested in playing Mage.  Like you guys though, I haven't played it so much as read a lot about playing it.  For 20 years.  I liked the 2nd edition rules better than the 1st as I recall, but frankly I would play any game of Mage offered.  I have been watching on here for about a year for a game with no success.
i'll run, but i NEED a tutor. im primarily a GM anyways.
I know Mage pretty well actually and I'm willing to talk to you about it (and to possibly play in your game as I love Mage). I'm not really able to run a game at the moment though, not even a short one. If that helps then let me know.
well... that works., looks like i'll be GMing... again. *sigh* eh I enjoy it anyways. Just give me some time to clear a schedule then.
Would it be easier to start off as mortals, then go through awakening and development during the game, to sort of slowly roll out the magic/mage society stuff? Just an offhand thought.
maybe hmm.
