That is sort of a complex questions. You see, this game is not about adventurer's moving through a dungeon grid, but rather about a world of characters negotiating and managing political and physical boundaries. Much of the roleplaying of done on our Official Forum and players report the decisions of their countries weekly to the DM using our Official Rules (which are sticky'd on the campaign info page). This can require occasional grid scenarios that are scheduled and played out by parties on an individual basis. For example a country commissions an adventure party to explore an unexplored area of land, certain rolls are done and the country pays the costs of the exploration; then the party is likely to have some sort of monster encounter in the unexplored land. That is when the game board finally comes into play. When one country's decisions conflict with another country, ... well that is when conflicts and possibly wars arise; again we go the grid to play out the battle. Without getting more specifically into the rules, that is the gist of how we can have so many players in our game. Unlike any other game on roll20, this game is made better the more players it has. To put it short, the game is a living world played across sessions on many days of the week and on the forum, and not just a grid that we have to worry about everyone fitting on. Hope that makes sense. I'm happy to elaborate or answer any other questions.
