Sending Pages/ Character sheets To new games

I'm new to roll 20, and me and my friends are using it to play D&D. Its amazing but the problem is our DM needs help designing maps and stuff. Is their a way we can help him? Like can he gives us the ability to help design maps? Or can we make our own pages and send them to him? Can someone tell me if this is possible or not. I searched around the forums and I couldn't really see any useful info on this topic otherwise i wouldn't make a new topic.
Two possibilities come immediately to mind. First, you can design maps in another program and then save the file as a .png or .jpg (or some similar format). Then once you send him the files he can upload them from his computer. The second, and maybe not the best, is that he can promote some of you to GM for the sole purpose of creating maps and such. This would only work if he was trusting that you all wouldn't peek at his work already done.  I'm sure the other folks here will weigh in, cause I'm not sure if you can share stuff you have made in another campaign if you're not the GM. I could be wrong so we'll have to wait to see what the others say. Might be a way if you have a paid subscription.
Say i wanted to design maps in another program and do as you said, do you know of programs we could possibly use? Also,  can you make  pages on roll 20 then save those instead of using an outside program. Because the Dm has maps already and if we wanted to make a new game but keep those maps. Thank you for your help.
I've used GIMP to make pictures and maps. It's free to download. As far as downloading ones already made I don't know. I know you can copy campaigns and that stuff will be transferred, but not sure if you can save stuff you have created on the tabletop and use it elsewhere.

Josh has it correct. Create maps outside the site with gimp or another program then sending it to him or posting it in a google drive account so he can retrieve them. The upgrading players to co-GM status is how to get people to create maps inside the game. There is a work around if the GM is a pro account subscriber. He can create another game board that is only for map making and he gives everyone co-gm status in that board then after the map is created, he can use the transmogrifier to copy the map into the main game. This keeps the original game secrets for the GM only while letting everyone else create maps in the other board.
Okay, Thank you both for your help, this pretty much resolves my questions.

The sending pages to a new campaign is done by using the  transmogrifier which is a pro account feature. Anything created in roll20 stays in roll20 except marketplace purchases as most of those have a downloadable feature to them along with being able to use them in roll20.
Ahh the transmogrifier. I always forget about the transmogrifier.
