[LFP] GMing for marginalized geeks

Are you a marginalized geek who wants to learn Pathfinder or D&D 5e, but are having trouble finding a game or group? Tired of hostile environments or creepers and their unwanted attitudes? My girlfriend and I are interested in GMing an introductory campaign for you~ We’re feminists and invested in the Quiltbag community. About ourselves: Full disclosure, I am a straight white cis guy, but Nybors (my amazing badass partner) is a genderqueer bisexual person who has been doing their best to civilize me. [I’ll let you guess who wrote that last part~] Nybors’ additional note: I have social anxiety and we can try to be sensitive to people’s mental stuff. We are neurodivergent friendly. No experience is necessary! While I have a lot of experience with pathfinder, I am willing to also try GMing 5e if the group would prefer. Just bare with me if that’s the case, since some of it will be a learning experience for me as well. The setting in either case will be homebrew. The sessions can pretty much only be held on Saturdays though, since our schedules are rather tight. Preferably, we would be starting around 3pm Pacific/6pm Eastern, though this is flexible. We’ll be using voice chat, but not video. It’ll either be through Google Hangout or a program called Raidcall. We don’t use skype. Edit1: Once we've garnered enough interest, we'll probably start something like interviews. Feel free to post your interest here or PM me if you’d rather be discreet.
i am in! i like how you think! i am exprinced with pathfinder but i am sick of peoples shit... so message me here. or email me gamerxprt@gmail.co

Sounds great. I am experieanced with Pathfinder, but have not played any of the D&D games after 3.5 (so no 4th or 5th edition). I am in the eastern time zone so 6PM may work for me. I have a class on Saturday, but should be able to be near a computer by that time. How long do plan on gaming? 3, 4, 5 hours?
Between 3 and 4 hours would be the target, but generally I don't set a stop time.
I would be interested in this, experienced 5e dm and have 0 experience with pathfinder
I should probably add that this won't be on a first come basis, we'll be doing something like an interview at some point. I'll also create a game and post a link to it soon.

This sounds like a fun idea to me, especially if it's pathfinder. I've played that and liked it a lot. Similar systems would obviously also be nice. I live in europe in GMT+3 timezone, so if it would be possible to start a bit earlier that would suit me best. But since it's saturday, staying up isn't exactly a huge problem. Anyway, I'm definetly interested, please let me know whatever further details you might need later on.
I would possibly be interested in this, however I am in PST, and I am only familiar with 5e. I don't have any Pathfinder books or anything, so that may be an issue. Otherwise, I would be interested in possibly filling in a caster role (i.e. Wizard or Sorcerer), but I'm willing to do other things if someone else wants to. I enjoy roleplay and combat, pretty much ride the line between the two. Let me know!
No need to worry Edward. There are plenty of online sources available for Pathfinder and this will be a new player friendly game so we'll gladly help you. Obviously, we aren't starting today as it's almost over. The goal will be for next Saturday, but that depends largely on irl events working smoothly. Be secure in the knowledge that once the campaign starts, games should be regular. Sorry for the lack of responses and we'll try to be more active once the game thread is posted.
Sounds fun! Let me know when you have intentions of starting interviews!
Also, if you might point me in the direction of aforementioned resources? I looked at the Advanced Players guide but I don't know exactly what I need to roll a character & play Pathfinder.

You should check out a program called PCGen Edward. It's a very handy program that makes you a character. It'll remind you to pick up traits and feats and whatnot. That + some slight reading of the corebook should get you started pretty easily. You can also check sites like http://www.d20pfsrd.com/ for pretty much all the info. Edit: This is all assuming we play Pathfinder ofcourse and not D&D.
It's a little shabby and late, but I've finally managed to get around to making the group. https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/33631/marginali...
If you are still interested in joining, please post in the "Interests Survey" thread.
