LFG - Vampire the Requiem or Masquerade? Or Mortals/Hunters?

So I'm dying (nyuk nyuk) to play a mortals, HtV, VtR,  or VtM game with an emphasis on roleplay and spooky atmosphere. I don't want to be coddled, I want to be on the edge of my damn seat. I don't want to power game, I want to participate in a compelling story deserving of the season.  I have some experience with the new world of darkness system, but I'm new to the GM update, and new to VtR as a setting. No experience with HtV too.  I have no experience in old world of darkness, but have some familiarity  with  the old setting from reading books and playing the computer games.  The one issue I have is that I can only play at night past 7pm PST on weekdays. Most of the world of darkness games atm are either full or running on weekends or daytime. I'm hoping I can at least find other players whose schedules sync up with mine. If you're a new storyteller, then that's fine! I'm fine with learning things alongside you. I'm cool with just using voice, but my Internet is fully capable of handling video. I prefer hangouts, but can use Skype if necessary. So is anyone else up for a world of darkness game for the Halloween season? ;)
Hi there. I'm very new to the site, and haven't gamed in years, but I used to run the old WoD tabletop for a long time - back even in the old fall-apart first edition vampire books. I have stacks of them, one shelf full of various splats from most of the original series. Personally I liked Mage the best, for one specific reason - it provided the best baseline of power comparison. Originally the WoD books would claim how interchangeable the different lines would be, and then the best we'd get is wonky workarounds. Anyway - I kind of have a social allergy, but gaming I do miss terribly. And it looks like you have a schedule that may vibe with mine. As for the new WoD materials - I have several of the main books and I like that the ruleset has a more defined core, but I can't say that I know it. I've never actually run a game on it. Same with the setting. The Old stuff though, I have a lot of books: Vampire Werewolf Mage Changeling Asian Vampires Changelings and Werethings Mages in the Renaissance Werewolves in the Wild West Demons Several Clan/Tribe/Were/Tradition books I think some kind of needle can be found in that haystack, if you want a fix.  - d
I kind of wanted to play something that goes bump in the night, but if you run a Mage game that emphasizes some kind of arcane horror (a-la Dario Argento's Suspiria) then I'd be down. I have very limited exposure to Mage. I played in a werewolf game, and my whole pack died only to re-roll mages (via Awakening). The game got weird fast, and I ended up a mage's "pet" with arcane knowledge locked away in my subconscious from drinking the soul of some arch mage. I played a short game of Mage the Ascension and it was pretty much the same bizarre hijinks. I guess what I'm getting at is: Mage is fun, but I want spooky over strange mind trips.  So my top things to play are Vampire, werewolf, demon, promethean etc.... It could be old or new system, it doesn't matter to me. I suppose it's just what you feel like doing. I know they have the 20th anniversary edition of owod on drive thru RPG! So I can buy whatever I don't have.
