Uhm, well . Mechanics-wise, it's a scholarly ex miscellanea maga with a focus on the literary. She is an Assyrian christian (which means she's far from home, but there's a good reason for that), and is as such familiar with a lot of different languages - and quite the sage. I imagine she'll be a bit of a generalist vis-a-vis the various Arts, but she can be the group's go-to person for books, unless we already have one of these, in which case they can start a book club together. She works well enough with people, save for a minor problem with her appearance. Because, you see, she's got a bit of a problem. She's faerie blooded, and it's some pretty strong stuff. Afrit (/ifrit/efreeti/whatever you prefer) blood, to be specific. Which would be fine, except for the fact that red skin and little horns tends to make most upstanding Christian mages think the wrong thoughts. Her parens was a bit of an unorthodox persona - powerful, but unpopular - and essentially took her in because she was an interesting project. He picked her up in Georgia, where she'd been brought by her father - a Syriac priest, fleeing from the persecution that usually follows from having a daughter that looks practically demonic - and then took her on a trip around Europe, usually heavily robed to conceal most of her features. I haven't quite finished writing the story, but through a chain of unfortunate events, ostracism and so on and so forth, it turns out that a Parsi-speaking demon-look-alike maga has no choice but to go to the frozen end of the civilized world: Novgorod.
