So is the idea that I use Fog of war ahead of time to basically enable what would be the vision blocking layer in Maptool (meaning that it effectively blocks hallways that wouldn't otherwise be visible and then the player's light or vision would be what determines what's visible to the player or other players. I'm assuming that lights (torches in sconces, fires, etc) would be handled the same way only they would be stationary.
With regard to the light, it might be useful to have two different setting for it so that the player could have both a privately visible (for darkvision etc) and a publicly visible (for torches, lanterns etc)
