LFP Pathfinder Persistent World - Dark Harbinger(info inside) - Nov 06th, 2015 @ roughly 1pm CST, more games to follow.

Hey guys! I'd like to point you in the direction of something that may be relevant to your interests.. http://darkharbinger.enjin.com/ That something is Dark Harbinger, an online persistent world community for the Pathfinder roleplaying game. A persistent world game in the context of Pathfinder is basically a story campaign in which an online community can make characters who all exist in the same universe, and whose adventures all contribute to the state of the world at large. More specifically, the Dark Harbinger persistent world has a host of Game Masters who all run their own games based in the same setting, with an overarching continuity. This continuity is facilitated and maintained by GM run story arcs both large and small, but the results of these stories and the events within the world are entirely player-driven. It’s SO important to us that the players are the creators of their own stories and their actions greatly influence the world around them. Huge changes can be made by one group’s actions, and we really want to see that happen! As I mentioned before, this is an online community. So far we are very young.. But we’ve come a long way in the few months we’ve been working on DH. I won’t blab on too much here.. But I’m more than happy to answer any questions you guys may have about Dark Harbinger, Pathfinder or whatever! We have a website and an IRC channel that you can access on the site or through your client. The details are on our website. Please check it out! If you’re looking for a group of people to play roleplaying games with and you haven’t had the chance to get into a home game this is the perfect opportunity for you. Also, NEW PLAYERS ARE COMPLETELY WELCOME! Don’t let inexperience scare you from coming along! One more time the link is: http://darkharbinger.enjin.com/ See you around hopefully!
I'm back from work! Any and all questions are welcome, please shoot if you have any. :D
I like the idea however I am wondering if there is going to be any sessions in the evening or weekends.
This sounds like it could be a lot of fun. No way of knowing if any games' times will align with my own, but I'll go ahead an sign up on the website.

Most of our GMs check out IRC and if there are enough people around with characters of a similar level they will announce they're going to prepare a game to start in a certain amount of time. Story arcs or special games can be organized in advance and posted on the website/forum to give people advance heads up and a chance to sign up. It usually just depends on the GM and how they want to do things.
Yes, most of the games are done as pickup games just as GMs and players are available, but some major story arc games and such are posted beforehand.
So three quick questions: 1. How do you feel about allowing players to be involved in the immersive activities? Such as town construction, trade, management, etc. 2. Would we be able to play multiple characters to allow us to play in different games of different levels? 3. Will there be a place to do between-session roleplays? I'm assuming the forum?

Hey Paddy, thanks for your questions. 1. The limitations of what your character can achieve in the world are really only set by yourself. If you have specific things you would like to accomplish then have your character set out to do these things in character and with time and patience you can, more likely than not, make it happen. Just be realistic about your expectations and you can always discuss with a GM what your hopes for the future are. I'm sure some of us would even like to take your ideas as plot hooks for games. Like I mentioned in my original post, DH is all about the players driving the world and what happens. You definitely have a say in the way things develop. 2. Everyone starts with 1 character slot. Every 4 levels with your highest level character will get you an extra slot. Eg, I start with a level 1 character - get to level 4 and make another level 1 character. My first character gets to level 6 and my second gets a lot more play time, getting it to level 8 so I unlock another character slot giving me 3 total. Etc etc. 3. Players are encouraged to meet up in character and roleplay whenever they want! Our ventrilo server is always open for that purpose and there are areas on the forums where you can roleplay with others, or others can approach you in your character's own forum post. There are plenty of opportunities! Also, when GMs have time and people have specific goals they want to accomplish outside of groups, players can request 'solo sessions' where gold and experience rewards are a vastly smaller amount compared with full sessions but the opportunity for story growth and specific events is prominent. I hope I've answered your questions well enough! If you have any more, shoot! :)
Thanks Kimarah :)
