Kingdom Death: Monster Online - A Thrown Together Electronic Preview

After a fair bit of going through to double and triple check everything, even running some other friends of mine through it to get any little bugs out, I'd like to see who would be interested in having a shot at trying out KD:M. For the time being, I have some time constraints, so trying to schedule a regular meeting is a bit difficult. So, for right now, if anyone is willing to try out the brutality that is Kingdom Death: Monster, I have a board ready and set for players. I have the game itself, and hopefully will spur some interest in other players to also seek out and purchase it. The board and figures are absolutely stunning, not to mention the atmosphere is just as horrifying as it could be with all the possible encounters and difficult trials in the unnamed world of darkness. I'll keep my eyes on the thread, I'd ideally like to get 4 players to take up the mantles of the beginning survivors. Skype will be the main form of communication, though I will give a warning ahead of time that my connection is a bit dodgy due to living out in the boonies. For those who are new to hearing about this game, the Kickstarter is https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/poots/kingdom-death-monster/description and the site for the company is http://kingdomdeath.com/ . I do hope to hear from interested players, and will give one last set of cautionary words, this game is hard and unforgiving but if you happen to get satisfaction from being beaten, eaten, and defeated a few times before arriving at success, this is your game.
Have the game also and have the minis out on commission to be painted. Was just thinking this might be another way to play and would be interested.
Good to hear about another interested player, I'm currently waiting for some more supplies of mine before I magnetize my minis for the full customization experience. Once we get a few more, I'll see what I can manage in terms of time and such.
I would be interested as well. I have a preorder for the base set in, hopefully shipping in the next week or so according to the website.
That sets us out at two then. If we can get another one or two then we can begin to discuss on a day and time. I've been running myself through a solo game myself to get familiar with the rules a bit more. Hopefully the management of the tokens and improvised sheets will go well enough to keep things good.

It does sound sadis... I mean interesting.
That's three interested down, if I could find one more I would be quite free to discuss getting a game going thereafter. And to be fair, Towowo, we're talking Dark Souls levels of 'sadis'; you will revel when you succeed only to be cut down later by your own hubris and learn from your mistakes. It has death in the title for a reason.
Well, I might be interested, but I don't know when you want to play.
I too am interested. When do you wish to play?
With this many interested, I can start talking numbers. For me, I'd only be free on the evenings of Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday. Times can be discussed, though optimal for me happens to be around 7pm CT.
I'd be good for Saturday, and around 7 pm would be great for me.
Man I'd love to try this(as the game play intrigues the hell out of me, but I have no interest in paying 300 dollars for mini's) sadly seems like you are full of volunteers though.
There's quite a few interested, as I see. If people think they can work with Saturday at 7pm, do pm me your skype info and I'll make a group for it. And Brian, there is a variant of the game which can accommodate up to 6 players, it wouldn't take too long for me to set the board right for that. That said, adding a fifth or sixth player makes the game that much harder :3 So please, all who are interested can still contact me, we could just as easily work in a rotation due to deaths and advancing through the various phases of the game to include more people.

For those who are wanting to play, I have a Skype conversation ready to add people into once I get their Skype information. I'll be running the tutorial and possibly the first year regardless of how many people show up, just to give a good preview into the game. So please, do not hesitate to get into contact with me when you can and I'll pop you into the conversation. If it happens to be during the session, I'll try to multitask as well as I can to keep an eye on people wanting in. Though, if there is the case of some not wishing to share their Skype info, I'll post the public link to join right into the conversation: https://join.skype.com/vnHPprbopWcW I look forward to seeing any interested parties there, I've been running a solo game of my own and it has been a lovely combination of salty and sweet moments.
Game time at the next top of the hour, not sure how long it will run, but if the sessions I've had so far are any indication, it's possible that it'll go for awhile. I'll run the tutorial and the first year if we are short, and do a full restart to get things going again if we happen to get more people unless they opt out on that option and wish to continue on with the current situation. Again, game time is at 7pm Central Time today, I look forward to seeing the new survivors awaken.
I've been hearing a lot about this game and its brutal nature. I'd love to try it out if schedules can work out.
I'm interested as well! Also because I really want to host KD games in the future on roll20. I am receiving my preorder soon (I hope!), but it's hard for me to find a group to play regularly. :)
So far we've had one successful session. The plan is to have the game run whenever I am available, thus joining the chat and keeping tuned in there is your best bet.
Hi rocky, i was just wondering if you were still hosting these. I would love to participate if you have available space!
Alfred, we still do have space, it's a bit jumpy at the moment, as work has been busy here and there. You can jump into the chat at any time.
