D&D 3.5 - Interest Check - Monday 2pm-6pm GMT -4 (Full)

So my Monday afternoons have became kind of boring and I can't seem to find any 3.5 games in this time slot, I would like to start another game if I can get some interest for it, the time I would be available is limited to 2pm-6pm GMT-4 as I have a game later that night. I am looking for about 3-5 players. I would be open to suggestions on what kind of game to run (not fond of using campaign settings but if there was enough interest I could try it), what level to start at, what level to expect to end at, how much combat, npc interaction, and any kind of general theme, but if people don't care too much I have millions of ideas milling through my head. I am pretty open with character creation (I love to read back stories), I allow most 3.5 WOTC Material, and I don't mind helping new players learn the system. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
hi i could play Monday that time. I would like to if possible a high power campaign and start at around level 10. for level towards the end i will leave that up to you. their should be a good balance between RPG element (talking and investigating) and combat if possible.
Hi i can play as well , i like a good mix of roleplay and combat dont care what campaign we run as long as it isnt something totally weird.
I am interested.
Alright good I will take this as there being plenty of interest, so lets get some discussion going. What do you guys think about starting level? What class/race/etc would you play? Is there anything you would like to see in this game? Will your character be an alignment that would likely conflict with other alignments (Lawful Good, Any Evil)? How I do usual character creation: Stats: 18/16/16/14/14/12 or roll in the game room for them. HP: Max at first 2, reroll 1's and again they need to be rolled in the game room, Gear: Standard Wealth by Level from DMG pg. 135, I'm open to most things but still reserve the right to nay-say anything I consider against the theme of the campaign, rest of the party etc. Also are you able to mic chat?
Starting level 1. I'd like to play a Cleric or something from Diablo 2. I'll play an alignment that goes well with the party's. I think we should I roll for stats, but if we take the pre-made you have set, we should be able to switch them around. I can use video and mic.
You put them where you want, that is just the list of scores (descending from highest to lowest), rolling can create character imbalance, why I made the array. And video isn't needed, just mic. And level recommendations of 1 and 10 big difference!
I'm looking for a campaign not a few sessions of random quests. I'm looking for something that falls in together in the long run.
Do you mean something like one main goal to be accomplished, maybe not known at the beginning, while doing other stuff (side quests) that slowly pulls you to a larger goal? I generally design very sandbox styled games where you have lots of places you can explore but you will always have a course as to what to do next, but I am not a fan of leading the party where I want them to go outside the use of NPC offered rewards (or maybe some kind of threat), I enjoy people discovering random things in my worlds and finding amazement in something I didn't even plan and turning that into a side quest that seemed planned all along.
Yes. Exactly. But, you sound like a good GM. I hope you can prove me right. :)
Well I hope I prove you right as well :)
When shall we play?
Well if we luck out we can start this coming Monday, but as we don't have a level officially decided prolly won't happen, but we will just kind of see where we are at. How do you guys feel about level 3-5 range? Also need to make sure we have enough interested players.
What time is that Eastern?
It is Eastern time (in daylight savings time) (GMT -4)
I have a job interview tomorrow. So I'll let you know then.
hi i would be fine with starting in between lvl 3-5 and the 18/16/16/14/14/12 stats. I woudl prefer starting at level 4 or 5 if thats alright but could you please confirm starting level.
i wouldn't mind starting from anywhere between lvl 2-5 and don't mind either rolling pr isomg am arrau
cough late night typing.. *or using an array* is the last bit
Well lets go for level 3 and see how that turns out, still haven't heard much on classes though.
i will be playing some type of rouge / stealth character
i'm honestly not sure yet maybe i'll just make a plain old fighter...
Alright well it looks like we can still take at least one more person.
ok my character done
If you can take two more people, my fiance and myself may be interested. She'll post too to confirm it. As for who I'd play as, I don't know, but I'll tell you if there's room for both of us.
Hello, Jinseingc224's fiance always looking for an RPG to join!
sounds great so i think we should use the array and lvl 3 sounds good, ill be playing a mage maybe specialized havent decided yet will create the character now
I have decided to make a fighter as first lvl and 2 lvls of mage im human using your array
I am completely ready to play. I will be playing a cleric.
Did you fill up your game slots? Elvish warrior/archer in mind.
Just got home I will reply to everyone shortly
From your suggested Ability Array I can only assume you encourage an incredible amount of POWER GAMING?
No, I encourage having fun and roleplaying, I find players have more fun and become more attached with their character when they don't have 5 11s :)
In what system would you ever have 5 11's? And a good roleplayer can make a blind beggar a memorable character. And call it what you want it's still power gaming. That said if your players are having fun then everything I said is a moot point. Good Luck with your game.
My players tend to have loads of fun, thank you and I wish you good luck in your games as well.
How much gold do we start out with?
2,700
Think we could get a pregame tomorrow?
I am pretty busy, but maybe at night
if it's your evening.. i doubt i can make that
We had a player drop due to time constraints, so we have an opening for a divine caster.
Still need a divine caster? If so I'd love more dnd to play. Two sessions in one day would be amazing.
I would be willing to play, since my group on Monday afternoons fell through the cracks. I would like to play an archer or a cleric, if either are open.
The role is filled, thread status updated.
ah so we will have a 6 man party then?
Any need for a new player yet? Decently experienced in DnD 3.5 and lessening virtual table top
