Grouping Objects (and Dynamic Lighting)

Being able to group multiple objects would be incredibly useful. Also, it would be incredibly handy to be able to group objects and say, attach a token to a drawing on the dynamic lighting layer. I could put a line on a door that the players can open, and as they open it they can see through. Large monsters could block field of view, etc.

While you can't group objects over multiple layers, you can group items within their own layer. Select whatever items you wish to group and then right click inside the selection. This will pop up a drop down menu by your cursor. Go to "Advanced" and then "Group". (The process is the same if you want to ungroup a selection too)
My only issue with the grouping tool is that whilst you can move the group, you can not rotate it (except if there is something I have missed?).
Group rotation would be really great, especially for the wargamers, methinks.
Here's the problem with group rotation: let's say you have 5 tokens selected, and you "rotate" them. If we rotate them around the center point of the whole group, then suddenly your 5 tokens are not going to be aligned to the grid. So do we rotate them each around their own center point? That seems awkward. I'd welcome any thoughts, though.
I'm not personally familiar with how Warhammer and like games do it, but I would certainly choose that as the model, since those are the people who need formations the most... You could execute the rotation on a single token in the formation and it will rotate the grid positions relative to *that* token. ("Rotate Around This Token" option) This would only work cleanly in 90-degree increments, of course. You could try allowing 45 degrees and let them go off-grid if they're holding the alt key, and if they don't you just get them into the closest unoccupied square.
Around the center of the whole group would be good. I don't really think of using it for groups where each members has to finish in a square (that wouldn't work). I am thinking mostly about the ability to move and rotate together a tank and its turret. Or a chariot and its passengers. For a group of characters, you can always replace the tokens within their squares if needed. It shall always be quicker than moving them individually. Turning each token about its own center would indeed seem quite awkward. I am also thinking about sketching a token directly on the map. For now, you have to do it in one stroke (not impossible, but...). What I would need for this, would be the ability to turn a drawing into a token (just as you can now turn a token into a drawing). http://community.roll20.net/discussion/1675/drawings-to-tokens#Item_1
