Looking to start a Battletech RPG Group

I've been a fan of the Battletech/Mechwarrior setting for a long time, all my experience comes from the Mechwarrior series as I've never played the tabletop RPG or the war game. I've been playing other tabletop RPGs for a few years now and slowly expanding into other games, I'm primarily a Shadowrun player as well as a GM for a D&D 5e game. Having had my interest renewed with the announcement of the upcoming Battletech game I thought it would be a great time to try dabbling in the RPG. There seems to be some interest on Roll20 but groups seem to be few and far between so I thought I'd put a post out to see if anyone is interested in the game. I haven't picked up the core rulebook yet but I have been reading the Quick Start rules and they seem decent enough to play a game or two (or more). What I'd like to do is find a group of people interested in establishing a regular group and maybe get some more interest in Battletech on this site. I'd prefer to simply be a player to start as I think it's best to get a feeling for system by playing a few games before attempting to GM however if no one else is willing I will give it a shot as long as you bare with me. Feel free to respond here or shoot me a private message. One final thing, I would eventually like to grow this into something that involves both A Time of War and Total Warfare, my primary interest is in the RPG but I'd eventually like to bring in Total Warfare for Mech vs Mech combat.
Are you looking to do a Mechwarrior campaign or mainly tabletop Battletech? I haven't played in years but I played a fair amount many years ago. Used to know just about every 2750/3025/3050/3055 mech stats, including all the major variants. We played a mix of Mechwarrior with Battletech but didn't use the Mechwarrior combat system. Our GM used a system called Phoenix Command for player combat. We stuck to core rules for mech combat though. I'd be interested in doing something that had a good bit of RP mixed in. My personal preference would be something set in the 3020's. The mech battles always felt way more strategic than later ones that started to have too much Clan influence. Heat management was for real. My favorite move was getting into position on a hill next to an enemy mech and playing soccer with their head. I liked to run a Phoenix Hawk so I would get a nice balance of damage/survivability/mobility. That and the Jenner (S variant if memory serves) were a great tag team.
I'm primarily interested in the Mechwarrior RPG and using Total Warfare for Mech combat. I've been reading through the quick start rules for both. I'm not really picky on the era this takes place in, I'm just hoping to get a regular group that plays the RPG.
Do you have a link to Total Warfare so I can familiarize myself with it? I'd like to see if some of my older reference materials would be compatible with this newer rule set. If you have voice comms (skype, vent, teamspeak) then maybe we could get on and chat a little after I've had the chance to familiarize myself more. I've always loved the setting of the Battletech Universe and would be open to playing a campaign set in it.
