Hello my name is Jesse and I live in Concord, New Hampshire. I'm 29, and very eager to do some RPing. I'm looking for a possible campaign to play (or begin) that would be a mix of action and combat, but leisure time and RP, if you want a perecentage of what's more, it'll probably be random, but I sure as hell won't do a boring campaign. The format we use would possibly be Roll20, but I'm willing to try whatever works and is fun.
I'm looking at the list of potential games to join I can only see ones that are either not up my ally (as in not English as it's the only language I speak) or it's a campaign I don't actually own the books for. Many campaigns are asking for players to read through the book of the parent system, which makes sense.
I have no experience being a player, but I have a lot of experience in knowing my options.
I have however brainstormed about being a GM for a long, long time, and while I don't have experience, I'm not against diving in.
Here's the facts:
If I were a GM...:
I have a stack of old D&D 3.0 and 3.5 books
I'm soon getting the initial needed books for Pathfinder, as that's the rule system I want to use, and to utilize my main books I'd convert all the rules, willingly, whether it took no time or lots. While I'd start a Pathfinder campaign in any D&Dish world, the Pathfinder basic world is where I'd begin.
I have two World of Darkness books ("new" World of Darkness that is). The main storytelling system rulebook and Vampire: The Requiem rulebook.
At the same time of getting my Pathfinder books, I'm getting the initial books for the Call of Cthulhu, just a book or two, and to get me in the mood I'm reading H.P. Lovecraft's Complete Works. The reason for Call of Cthulhu is a couple local friends will be running it with me off the net.
My fiance loves, and I mean LOVES, Doctor Who, and we have the Doctor Who: Adventures in Space and Time RPG books by Cubicle 7. That's going to be another potential campaign, but I could do it online as well.
Other games I'm not biased to trying out:
Shadowrun
Rifts
GURPS
All Flesh Must Be Eaten (you know, ZOMBIES!!!)
Star Wars
Star Trek
Savage Worlds
Legend of the Five Rings
Uber RPG: Steampunk
And no, I don't own all these books, in fact the bottom list I don't own any of them, but that can change really quickly.
Any campaign I'd begin I'd go nuts buying and producing my own material. The last thing I want is a bored group!
If I were a player...:
While I'm not against GMing, I'd much rather play first, but that depends on if I find a good play group. Given the list of options above, would a potential GM please stand up and let me know about a potential campaign for any of the above worlds/rules. Would any potential other player please respond and say what world they'd rather play in.
Am I going to GM or play? If I GM, expect a wait of a few weeks so I can get a decent campaign together. If I play, we can start sooner.
If a potential GM doesn't mind switching roles, like I am willing to, I'll play their campaign if their willing to play under mine, but we can discuss that more later.
Time:
I work weekend evenings, and am not available to run a campaign, based on Eastern Standard Time, until around 11 o'clock, perhaps even later. I'm willing to stay awake into the wee hours of the morning to RP, but I'm also not against doing an early morning campaign, which might work out better for some, but I know 8 a.m. for me is 5 a.m. for some (or 1 p.m. in the UK). As long as it's not beginning late morning or afternoon/mid evening, I'm all good.
But FYI: timing is flexible. Let's work it out, aside from the above stated time slots (early to mid weekend evenings).
