My group is having some hijinks with the die roller in roll20 and we were wondering if there were documentation about how the roller is generating its random numbers. I'm sure its sound but it'd lay to rest some accusations of tomfoolery. We are rolling things like 5-7s and 4-5s.

You can find information on the quantum dice in the wiki: https://wiki.roll20.net/QuantumRoll Edit: but basically it's more random than physical dice. :) Hope that helps.

Hi Richard, this has been discussed many many times and the end result is always 'It is as random as real dice, you just notice patterns more when you can still see the results of your last handful of rolls'. Besides, it is easier for players to blame a dice engine than accept a simple unfortunate series of results. Since Diana has provided the best link to lay those demons to rest I'll close this thread now. Happy rolling... or randomly generated virtual rolling at the very least ;)
